We really enjoyed our recent dinner at Elvira (our first time). Graham provided excellent service. The food was exceptionally good. The pasta is fresh. The Caprese salad made a great appetizer to share. The Lamb Chops are excellent. A little on the noisy side due to the concrete walls. We'll be back.
The hostess was the awesome! She was so friendly, professional and welcoming. Made for a great start to my friends birthday celebration. We had a wonderful dinner. I highly recommend the pasta and aperol spritz. You can tell the pasta is so fresh. Loved this spot!! I'll be back, perfect for a special occasion.
Elvira was wonderful! At every point of our experience we were greeted and waited on. The staff was so kind and made us feel so welcome. The actual restaurant was beautiful and just an overall uplifting vibe. The pasta was also excellent! My party got the Amatriciana and the Carbinara, both were excellent, as someone from an Italian family I was thoroughly impressed. Overall an amazing experience we will be recommending !
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Andrea was such a great waiter, the food was EXCELLENT- this is my new favorite GF pizza
Had a great experience, ate out in the small patio near the pizza oven. They have blankets and cushions for the seats if you would like to use them. Meal was great!
I shared a pizza (Ortolera) and salad (Barbabie Tole Gorgonzola) with three friends, and the food was just spectacular, even though relatively simple menu items. Our waitress, Camilla, was lovely and so attentive. We also enjoyed the deserts of creme carmel and frittelle (fried dough). Everything exceeded expectations and we were not rushed even though there was a crowd waiting to get inside. Next time, I'm bringing my very discerning husband cause I think he will also find Elivira's to his liking.
Best Italian food we have had in San Diego and our waiter Nick made our first visit great!
Our waitress was wonderful; she was attentive & very accommodating. We ordered a delicious pizza & added ingredients to make it even more outstanding. Our entire experience was exceptional. We will return!
Our server Chris was absolutely amazing! He was kind and welcoming. Knows the best options to choose from on the menu!! Would come back because of the service as well as great pastas!! Thank you Elvira for an amazing experience!
Amazing but the bar tender interrupted my speech while I was giving my friend a speech during a special toast and completely ruined it. It was the guy with the green apron he was kind of rude and impatient. It was obvious I was giving a speech with tour drinks up and he's like “do you know what you want yet!” All rude couldn't finish my speech so sad 😞

Delicious lamb chops flavored just right with side dishes. The specialty homemade fettuccine comes out perfect in every ways. Perfect little friendly restaurant for night out
Hands down, the best Italian restaurant in San Diego . The caccio e pepe and amatriciana transport you to Rome.
Outstanding staff. Quaint, unique ambiance. Dessert was 💯 delicious. Food was fine, not worth $$.
Fun experience trying Elvira for the first time. Staff were all beyond capable and very attentive without overwhelming. Food seriously tasty and a great intro to Roman tastes. Only complaints are: 1) Noise level and 2) Hand washing station is poorly designed resulting in a countertop that is flooded at all times making it a challenge to keep clothes, purse, wrap, etc. dry while washing hands. Definitely 'first world' complaints. All up? Excellent, fun spot.
Andreea is fantastic! She was so sweet, attentive and made great recommendations. We got the diavola pizza and the carbornara pasta . The pizza was amazing they truly put it at top pizzas in San Diego. The ingredients and the quality is top tier. The carbonara was great too! If i could change one thing it would be the noodle shape. They also brought my boyfriend an affogato on the house for his birthday which was sooooo good!!! Thank you Andreea!
