This is a terrific locally owned coffeeshop. The shop has a lot of good stuff to offer.
I had an iced coffee with milk and a couple of their breakfast calzones: one with bacon on and eggs and the other with veggies and eggs. You can get a regular coffee and two small calzones for $10.
The iced coffee was great. The coffee offered a great medium coffee flavor and was smooth and rich.
The calzone are made in house by the owner. I like that they are crispy in nature and filled nicely with their tasty filling. I enjoyed both of them, but I was most fond of the bacon and eggs given the savory flavor. Make sure you try their tomato jam. It goes very well with these little calzones.
The service was very friendly and welcoming. They offer inside and outside seating. They also over baked goods and a variety of different toasts.

What an upgrade. The new Sinewave cafe that took over the old espresso lab is amazing. The owners crushed the interior remodel. It’s gorgeous and thoughtful. It’s cozy and modern. Love that they built a little stage for upcoming music shows. I got a double espresso, it was super tasty and pulled well. Can’t wait to try the food. This is an awesome addition to the OB community.

BURNT ESPRESSO, I came here to for an espresso and thought it was going to be good. I ordered a double shot and received a single and it was burnt and not filtered. You can see the grounds in my cup. Never coming back here.

This is one of my favorite indie coffee places in San Diego. I love the seasonal drinks and chagacinos. It's a very open and chill atmosphere, and I've had several work meetings here.
Do NOT get espresso here. This is not specialty coffee, you will regret it. Very kind but completely untrained baristas. This could have been 5 stars if the place were not called Espresso Lab, which implies some level of expertise or experience or espresso focus. Just call it a neighborhood cafe like all the rest and you're fine. Just don't get your hopes up if you're looking for specialty coffee.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere is so down to earth and aesthetically pleasing. The baristas are super nice and really communicative, making you feel right at home. The avocado toast is delicious, perfectly seasoned and topped with fresh tomatoes and olive oil. And don't get me started on the iced vanilla latte, it's rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Overall, it's a fantastic spot to relax, get work done, enjoy great food and coffee, and soak in the friendly vibe. I will definitely be coming back here again!

Such an underwhelming place, can't understand why there are these many positive reviews about it. Ordered an avocado toast with a cappuccino. It took 13 mins for them to start on my order and there was no one in front of me. Avocado toast was a piece of bread (untoasted), slices tomatoes and I think a drip of olive oil. Hardly any taste to it. Could have put something better together at home. Espresso so weak and blah. No way is this an "espresso lab". No parking. Big let down.

While I appreciate the service and great coffee, as a customer, a bathroom seems like a given when going to a coffee shop. Coffee is a natural laxative. Unfortunately, I was not able to find a bathroom around the area, as a suggestion per the individual at the service counter, who was extremely friendly. Please provide a bathroom for your paying customers.
