Okay food, but not worth going too far out of the way for.

I got the breakfast burritos and it was AWFUL. First of all there were no black beans and salsa inside the burrito and the menu states burrito comes with black beans and salsa. Also paid extra for sausage and there was only a couple of pieces and the breakfast burrito was DRY and NO FLAVOR. Mostly potatoes. VERY DISSAPOINTING and TERRIBLE HEALTHY FOODS

This place had been on my list for a long time, and I finally got a chance to try it. It’s located next to Donna Jean and shares a space with Val’s Kitchen, all three are in the same building, though they appear to have separate kitchens. I ordered the EVO burger and it was excellent; the bun was especially soft and delicious. I also got the carne asada fries, which were great when eaten hot. I’ll definitely be back to try more items from the menu. They have a few indoor tables and a nice outdoor “beer garden” with shaded seating as well.

Came by today for breakfast and got the burrito and eggs benedict! The eggs benedict were my favorite. The coffee was delicious and loved that they use recyclable/compostable paper products for my iced drink! The staff were so friendly and kind. ❣️

The BTLA was so spicy it was not edible. Why not let us pick if we want sauce on it!!. That was smothered in very spicy sauce. The sandwich did not have a taste other than spice. Big bummer. Can’t call to ask about sauce.

Food was delivered without any of the add-ons and side sauces. Burgers were not cooked correctly. Missing an entire meal. Go to Plant Power instead.

12/18/25 So I happen to be driving by going to the Taco Bell across the street and when I came out of Taco Bell that’s when I noticed it. I don’t know how recent you guys have opened but I drove down El Cajon Blvd. before and I did not notice it said evolution like I said until I was in the drive-through facing it for so long waiting for my order. I’m like oh my God you’re back and I’m like is it the evolution evolution? And yes, it is congratulations on the new location. I thought you guys were just closed down for good, but upon reading recent reviews, they seem disappointed in the new operations. I have not tried the new operations yet so this comment will be updated but for now I can speak on the food before was good. My favorite was the chicken salad and they got rid of that long time ago. I don’t know why that was a fan favor and it was made really well so some of the food has changed already. A lot of the comments are saying it changed now, but I noticed it started changing before, so I really hope not a lot of my favorites is taken off and the taste is still tasty like another comment said we do have limited choices as vegans And so I would like to to continue coming here as one of those choices. Thanks. I will update once I try the new location. !!

I’m really disappointed with my experience ordering from Evolution. I placed an order through Instacart that cost me a little over $102, and somehow I still ended up missing one of the main items I was excited for — the Evo Style Fries with Buffalo and fried chicken added.
For the price I paid, this should never happen. I expect my full order, especially when I’m spending over a hundred dollars. It’s frustrating to pay that much and not receive everything I ordered. This completely ruined the meal for me and honestly makes me hesitant to order from here again.
I hope the restaurant takes order accuracy more seriously because this was unacceptable.

Wow......I had to delete my old review because I recently visited the new location and I gotta say things have definitely changed. And definitely not in a good way. The burger was bland. The chicken fingers looked all sad sitting on some dried up lettuce and the young girl working the register was weird and has limited customer service skills. And the menu is like a 1/3 of what the old menu was. Geez.... For several years I've enjoyed coming to the old location. The staff was way better and the food was a 4 or 5 star rating. Now I really don't care about ever coming back. $30 for a burger and chicken fingers that was just okay? I can cook at home and get way more and better quality than what Evolution is currently serving.
We have a very limited amount of spaces where we can eat out at and this is quite the disappointment!
The fish tacos were amazing and came out super quick.

I’m grateful the new location of Evolution inside Donna Jeans has an outdoor patio, but I will forever miss the original location with their large private outdoor seating and drive-through! The service is prompt and comprehensive. The food is really good, and accommodating to food sensitivities.

This use to be my favorite spot!!! I would eat here at least once a week when they were in the old building. The food was always delicious back then. But since they've moved to this new spot, the quality of the food has gone downhill... I've ate at the new spot three times and each time was a disappointment... guess I need to find a new favorite spot!

It was fairly busy, but the food was prepared well, tasted great and the staff was very friendly
