Bummed I didn’t know about the place next door, cause there are so many vegan fast food restaurants in SD. Alas, we knew about this place. Less fast food feel than Plant Power. Burger was bigger and better. It’s a Beyond patty or a black bean patty. The fry portions are big. The chicken tenders are very tofu like. No sweet potato fries.

Tried the crunch wrap and thought, "Why haven't I been here yet?". The portion size was perfect. I LOVED how chunky the jack fruit was. I could actually see what I was biting into.

I have been eating here for awhile, this is a true comfort food place for me. They have reasonable prices compared to other places around and the food is so good and so very filling.

I've been enjoying Evolution since they opened up their first location with Donna Jean next door. Over 20 years ago.
But now it's even better!
Not only are they right down the street from us now, and they still have the best burgers, tenders, loaded fries, shakes, and wraps. House made tenders and patties.
But now they've added some amazing dishes that were on the
kick ass menu of The Village!!!! (The Village was at this new location).
We've tried the eggs Benedict, fysh tacos, and a waffle sandwich and a few others, which we'll try next.
It gets better!
Donna Jean moved there too!!!
This location has become a vegan delight. Donna Jean has the best pizza and pastas in San Diego.

Wonderful food! Big portions! Healthy tasting but not in a way like you feel like something is being sacrificed, just nice and light light tasting. The side of chickpea salad could almost be a meal itself. Got the bacon cheeze burger with the beefy patty. Excellent and very fresh tasting. Only gripe was the bacon. It was very thick cut tempeh. Don’t get me wrong, I love tempeh and this was very well seasoned. Bacon is supposed to add a bit of crisp and smokiness to a burger. This just added some mush, though delicious mush it was. Still a 5 star meal, I would just avoid the bacon next time.

I must say that Evolution Fast Food getting 11th place in a recent Top Burger Spots Nationwide list is a huge honor. Number 11 like Isah Thomas aka Zeke of the Detroit Pistons. Evolution delivers plant strong vegan fast food including both cooked and raw with a varied menu. I went with the Mushroom Swiss Veggie Burger having black bean burger as the base. I love made in house veggie burgers such as a black bean burger as I am not a big fan of faux meats yet appreciate they are out there since some folks enjoy them.
I made it a combo adding fries and hibiscus tea for $5 more. Nice outdoor seating on the patio with colorful murals added to the ambience. Friendly staff. All compostable wares. Recommended!

food is okay. it's really frustrating that the menu isn't labeled for foods containing soy, wheat, and dairy. we need those labels y'all.

The patio was a great place to have dinner. We had our pups with us. So nice we could have them on the patio with us. The bacon cheddar ranch fries were ok.

Vegan fast food... Interesting. I had a falafel wrap and wife had a BLT. Both good. Wrap was huge... 2 lunches. Patio was nice but spartan. Will return for more.
