Filippi's Pizza Grotto Kearny Mesa

Pizza was horrible tasting. We order a cheese pizza with pepperoni, but the pizza didn’t had no pepperoni. Service was ok.

I love coming here to have pasta! Fav one linguini with clams in a white sauce. The host is the sweetest man ever! He’s very cordial and sweet, even when you order by phone! ???? ????

Food was good. Service wasn't so good. 2 of the servers had attitude towards each other and it showed to the patrons.
The atmosphere is ok. The antipasto salad has gone downhill for the last year, but it is the same at all locations, not just this one. So much so, we will never order it again.

Had lunch here today 8/17/24 with my husband and our 5 year old daughter. The food was great, no complaint there but when the waitress "Cori" as it said on the receipt, came out with the pizza our daughter got really excited and said Damn! Because of the size of the pizza in front of her, the waitress looks at her and basically tells her not to use that language. That put a damper on the rest of my experience, I did'nt say anything because I was just as confused as my daughter for the reprimand, it did not sit well with my husband and I. I don't think it's anyones business to tell my daughter what she can & can't say, especially when the word "Damn" was said out of excitment. So Fillippis please tell your employees to leave the parenting to the parents.

A solid San Diego Italian establishment that doesn't break the bank and offers quality food. Doesn't do anything outstanding, but satisfies nonetheless. Pizza is probably your best option.

Filippi's is a family favorite, but depending on how you prefer your pie, it's not for everyone. I'm not a big pasta fan, but other menu items are decent. What sets this location apart from the others is the service. The staff at the Kearny Mesa location are the absolute BEST! Our BOD holds its monthly meetings at this location. No matter how busy we have our server, she is always quick, happy, and super accommodating.

Dinner on 07/05/2024. Atmosphere was very dark. Pizza was delicious. Plenty of toppings, hot, and crust was thick and excellent. Server was very confusing. At first had no beer we desired, then decided they did. Described the antipasto salad as refreshing with salami. Had to ask for orange twice for blue moon beer. Cannoli tasted kinda sour.
Server kind of ruined the dinner.
