Was super disappointed in all of the food. Ribs weren’t good. Onion rings undercooked. Soggy garlic bread. Pasta dish was overloaded with mushrooms and was mushy. Carrot cake was worse than store bought. Had high expectations but was fully disappointed. Maybe the pizza is good but we won’t be back to find out.

We came here late on St. Patrick's day and they were super kind and accommodating. They sat us down and took our order right away. The food and vibes were great. I had the spaghetti and wish I got two because it was so good!

A quaint "old school" Italian spot walking distance to the beach. The food was very good. Service was very friendly. It was a wonderful find.

Love Filippi's, but not this one. Very disappointed. There were only about six tables full when I arrived. After the hostess sat me, I watched several employees walk by me, with no one addressing me. I sat there for close to 10 minutes before I almost walked out. Then a waitress walked by that I was able to stop and ask if I could place my order. She apologized and said she would be with me shortly. For another 10 minutes I watched this waitress run around the restaurant working like crazy. I saw several staff doing absolutely nothing, a few were standing around talking to each other. I was there 25 minutes before I got my drink and was able to order my pizza. Filippi's makes incredible pizza, what is going on with this location. There was hardly any pepperoni, and a lot less cheese than normal. It's unfortunate that this is such a great location receiving such horrible service all the way around

The meatballs were hard, which is super weird. The location near Little Italy has softer meatballs. The antipasto was super funky. Last time I had it, years ago... there was mostly lettuce, cheese slices, salami slices, pepperochinis, olives, more cheese, more meat, and lots of dressing. This had garbanzo beans and raw broccoli. Artichoke hearts, I'd understand or marinated garbanzo beans... maybe. It was just too weird. I got chocolate cake to go and I should have just skipped it. It tasted like it was precut and sitting in a freezer or fridge for a few days.

Still the best and hasn't changed since I first went there decades ago. The food quality has never gone down and has always been the best of the best ingredients and dough and cheese and sauce and homemade sausage and every other thing you can imagine that would make it be the best pizzerias in San Diego.

The service was amazing! We watched other peoples orders and the amount of food they gave for the price was huge! We ordered a house salad that had. Lack olives, broccoli, tomatoes, green olive, garbanzo beans and the Italian dressing. It was a small and enough for two. The small special pizza came with 6 slices and enough for two of us. Hidden gem!

Nuff said. Place is bomb. Happy March. Some of the waitstaff has been here for over 20 years! And it shows as they are consummate professionals of all things pizza and wine.

We have been coming here for 15 years. Our favorite waitress has always been Beau. She is amazing. We come back over and over for her. However, we came on Sunday 2/25. There were tons of open tables. We were still asked to wait to be seated. We understand if there needs to be a wait to let a waitress the time to handle all tables or to prepare the tables but that wasn’t the case in this situation. Then after we were seated, we continued to wait for our waitress to greet us. Our waitress seemed annoyed not only to serve us but that we asked for utensils and napkins. The most frustrating part was that she was friendly, engaging and kind to the tables around us but was clearly frustrated that we were seated in her section. We went at 7pm it was not closing time and we were not the last ones in the restaurant either. Then, there was a non service dog in the restaurant barking the entire time we were eating. As someone who has worked with trained service animals, it absolutely was not a service animal. It was frustrating to hear a dog barking inside constantly throughout the meal. It should not have been allowed. There are numerous tables outside that dogs can be at.Lastly, it was awkward getting 1 water refill after the meal was over. Followed by the cup being slammed down.I am glad they have new additions to the menu but this experience and a few others leading up to this with the current staff is frustrating to say the least. We were a simple table but you would’ve thought our party of 2 was asking for her to serve us on her day off.No thank you for coming, zero hospitality and ultimately would make me not come back to this location. Do better.

First time I went to this restaurant was probably in 1971 when my wife and I had moved to San Diego from Long Island to begin serious careers. We were both 23. Filippis at the time looked exactly as it looked tonight. The empty wine bottles hanging from the ceiling had just started. A few years later the health department made the restaurant take them all down because it, in their view, created a health hazard. Years went by and slowly the hanging bottles reappeared. Apparently, a new generation of city officials decided they were no longer a problem. Years ago this restaurant offered pretty good Italian food, including decent pizza, at modest prices. Tonight the least expensive menu's item was spaghetti with meat sauce. That's what I ordered, but what arrived was a sloppy inept dish. If you can't cook spaghetti correctly, you have no business calling your self an Italian restaurant. Disappointing, though I did appreciate the freshly baked bread when it arrived a little late. My waitress was caring and capable. She'd fair well at any type of restaurant anywhere. Here's the thing. If an Italian restaurant can't pull off the most basic dish, why would I trust them to serve me anything else? The menu was filled with expensive items that require skill and finess to pull off. I doubt there is anyone capable in the kitchen with any level of necessary skill to produce consistent good to excellent Italian food. Friday night at 7:30 and the place is only one third full. Why? Because in the new management's rush to cash in by stuffing the menu with expensive items, they forgot about delivering good VALUE. That has always been the draw of this particular Filippi's. Oh yes, forgot to mention $10/glass for cheap jug wine! That's ridiculous. Also offered in full and half carafes for stupid prices. Prime rib too at as much as you'd expect to pay at a good steakhouse. My advice is - "fix your ways". You are going to see your dining head counts drop to a third of what they once were. And after that happens you'll discover that it takes much much longer to over come a bad reputation than it does to ruin a good one. I'm

Best Prime Rib in San Diego. Used to be just Mira Mesa, now in PB as well. I cut my whole dinner with a fork. Super, would recommend to everyone.

Ordered the food on line. They messed up my order. I am disabled and unable to go pick up the order today. I called the restaurant for help and they didn't do anything for me I had to reorder the pizza they mestup in the first place and to top it off they are sending the pizza I originally ordered 1hour and 30 minutes ago. They didn't make me a new order. And I still had to pay all the delivery fees and service fees and tip again. They think it's OK to treat customers like this. Oh but they said I will get my money back........... in 4 days. What the heck is going on.

Bread was cold, SALAD had very little dressing, water on the bottomBring your magnifier to be able to read the menus so ridiculously smallNot a fan of this place anymore THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY GIVING.
