I chose this place due to its proximity to a jobsite. I ordered two carne asada tacos for a little over $8. Tacos were served on the tiniest tortillas and were gone in 4 bites. Salsa was good, but I don’t see myself returning. Too pricey

Chacho's Tacos is a taco truck next to Societe Brewing Company which works out well as you can eat their tacos while drinking beer in the Societe Brewing Company. The tacos were good and most were about $3.99 but I thought they were even small for a street taco. I tried the carne asada, carnitas, pollo adobado, and shrimp tacos and they were all good. I got a side of tortilla chips for $2.00 but they were also very small. In summary great location if you are visiting the brewery, fast service, great tacos, but very small servings.

Chaco’s is a pretty solid Mexican taco truck. They’re often parked outside of Societe Brewing on Clairemont Mesa at the edge of Kearny Mesa and the 163 freeway. The owner is a friendly guy who’s down to earth and fun.
I ordered a California burrito and my brother ordered a surf & turf burrito. My Cali was pretty solid, and came with guacamole without any extra charge which was nice. The salsas were pretty good, but I think I preferred the salsa verde. The red salsa wasn’t as spicy as I hoped. Overall a good distribution, nice tortilla, and well-seasoned meat cooked on a flat top.
My brother’s surf & turf was similarly well-constructed. Good amount of shrimp and carne asada, not too oily, and not fishy at all. Solid structure that held its composure during the eating experience, with a nice flavor throughout both meats.

The carne asada was tender but not enough flavor for my taste, HOWEVER, would totally come back to get more carnitas tacos though!!! Get the carnitas! Suuuuper juicy and full of flavor! Perfect with a cold beer from Societe Brewing Company nextdoor.

We were so disappointed to get the tacos and open the box and see it had SO MUCH oil. We ordered 4, and it was just not a pleasant experience to eat them. The tortillas were so saggy from the oil.
Really good food truck experience, especially outside a brewery. Tacos and loaded fries were perfect with our beers.

Was craving for some authentic street tacos which are hard to get in Clairemont but we thought a food truck is the best way to go. I will mention that they charge extra for extra salsas and they only give you one lime wedge and one salsa no matter what you order from the menu. I made a taco flight by ordering the pollo asada, carne asada, carnita, veggie, and shrimp tacos. We got the quesadilla and surf & turf burrito as well. the tacos and burrito were smaller than anticipated, we had to go back and order more food since we weren't full from what we got. Their self service ordering kiosk is kind of cool however because the location is next to a brewery, they don't serve any drinks :( no horchata or jarritos here. The food wasn't bad, just not fully satisfied
