The "new" decor of this restaurant was a bit disappointing, as it seemed almost identical to the previous restaurant "The Westgate Room". The decor is fine however, just the same. Our server, Perry, was most attentive. The four dinners were nicely served and delicious.
We went to Bonne Vie before seeing a show at the Civic Center - very conveniently located. The staff was very friendly and helpful but I believe it opened recently and they are still working out the kinks. One of the servers delivering our drinks spilled two of them on me and my friend. They were very apologetic and kind. The food was good - I would go back. The ambience was a little blah - fitting for being in a traditional, nice hotel but I feel like the lighting was too bright.
The host was on a break and the restaurant was hard to find, tucked in a corner of the Westgate, but the other staff got us and others who arrived at the same time seated. I was disappointed they didn't note the reservation, so there was no mention of my mom's birthday. For brunch, we shared the quiche, which was quite tasty if unevenly cold/room temp, and the pear pancakes, which were a real treat with ginger and cardamom cream. Our server was lovely for the first half...
