my friend and i came on a Saturday night, had a 7 pm reservation and were immediately seated and welcomed by our server. Tried 3 dishes between the two, a lot of food but delicious!
Very cute restaurant! Have been wanting to try for a couple of months and finally got a reservation. The service was great and so was the ambiance. We ordered a lot and my personal favorite was definitely the spicy chicken wings. Only thing is that some of the food wasn't as good as I thought it would be but it was still very enjoyable!
Seemed like it was short staffed, so service seemed a bit disconnected. Food was okay, but it seems to have gone downhill since our visit in the past when it first opened. Drink menu vanished. I think my expectations were too high because it was my son's 21st birthday.
Tables are too close together. We just heard everyone else's conversations and was distracting
Salt and pepper shrimp was the best. The orange chicken was over fried, Dan Dan noodles didn't have a whole lot of flavor just spicy, the crab wontons were good, green beans were ok, and the beef and broccoli had more sauce than beef
Food was delicious an experience. Food was delivered one item at the time, salad was served last !!!!!! Ran out hit tea!
The person who greeted us at the door was very short with us and visibly irritated with the line. I asked a simple question “do we wait in the line if we have a reservation” and without any eye contact he just said “COOL WOULD YOU STAND IN THE BACK OF THE LINE” I felt like walking away from the restaurant but we had reservations and I didn't want to be charged. It just set a bad tone for the rest of the dining experience. It wasn't even that busy but he was already irritated. He was a tall white tall man and had a sweater on that day. Monday October 19th.
One of the most beautiful, immersive chinese restaurants serving new york-style chinese food. Always a great meal with attentive, knowledgable service.
Love this place. Love the food especially. Had a great waitress, great seat location near the front window. Music quite loud so it was difficult to talk at our table but will be back. Just lower the music level. Shouldn't have to yell to talk.
We've been wanting to try Fortunate Son for a hot minute and so glad we made reservations and finally went! Between the four of us, we ordered the green beans, cabbage, fried rice, crab rangoon, egg rolls, orange chicken, two different types of noodles, and the honey walnut shrimp. I definitely liked the fried rice and everything I sampled was delicious. My favorite was the orange chicken. kinda a bummer they charge for steamed rice. That's usually included with the entrees. Generous portions, no soda on tap, limited alcohol selection.

We loved the fun decor and excellent service at Fortunate Son. The ginger lemonade was delicious! We really liked the friend green beans and walnut shrimp. The General Tsos chicken was a bit overcooked and dry. The fried rice was standard. I would go back, and it would be fun for a special occasion, as it's very festive inside. I also loved the music they played!
Service was inconsistent. Food was inconsistent: soup served lukewarm, entree portions were generous. Fried rice was great, cauliflower was a bit mushy but flavorful, General Tso Chicken was ok.
Food was really amazing except for wontons they had less than a teaspoon of filling so it just tasted like wonton chips. Orange chicken was the star of the show!
Great friendly staff, fantastic Chinese dishes all reasonably priced, CK always kills it for the atmosphere.
I loved everything about this place. Its beautiful inside and so cozy. The food was delicious and authentic. The staff and service was great, cant wait to come back! Bonus, reasonably priced too!
