I went there for an ItsHolly collaboration, and everything I ate was amazing. I love how San Diego chill this place is. I don’t even drink coffee, but the banana pudding latte was incredible. Highly recommend!

Food is great but it never seems to be open anymore. Did they close? The website is down and the Waffle folks right next to it don't seem to know.

I almost don’t want to post a review so this place stays a secret… but it’s too good not to share!

Food is amazing, the McGriddle is divine and the lobster tots incredible. Great brunch spot and worth ordering ahead!

Love that you can preorder and check out that week's menu items in advance. We shared the brisket Crunchwrap supreme, fried chicken biscuit and I ordered a matcha tea latte with passion fruit popping boba. Everything was DELICIOUS and unique. The Crunchwrap was especially tasty (I love brisket) and two thumbs up for the biscuit that the fried chicken was served on. They usually have 8 or so things on the menu including lattes. I would love coming back here! They share a space with Atypical Waffle and you just have to check in when you get there and your food will get fired up. Follow their Instagram as well to see what they're cooking up. I'm going to have dreams about this food!

Food is great and the people are so nice. I came all the way down here to pick up food they were offering as part of a collab with Holly (oxtail Crunchwrap, ube longanisa McGriddle, cheesy tots, strawberry corn French toast, black sesame matcha latte with mango boba) and everything was so good (well, the latte was missing the black sesame but it was still pretty good). Since I drove 150mi round trip (yes, I love food this much), I was looking for things to do to wait out traffic. They were so kind to make a list of recommendations in the North Park area for me to check out. Small space and a little hard to find driving by but just look for the laundromat! Next time I'll have to plan my day better so I can hang out here a bit more.

Oh my god- what an amazing surprise. We were just visiting for Atypical Waffle on a Saturday and noticed the hints of 90s nostalgia everywhere. It feels like you're almost ordering from a 90's airstream speakeasy. (Go right past where you would order for Atypical) While waiting in line to order our waffles we scanned the QR code to see what Freshman Year was cooking up and decided to split our order so we could enjoy both menus! Freshman Year's menu changes weekly and you can usually find them every Saturday and Sunday at Atypical Waffle, but check their Instagram (@freshmanyearsd) in case they are popping up somewhere different (or if they have any weekday pop ups!) The boyfriend got a cheddar bay biscuit lobster sandwich thing and it was amazing. I had the strawberry coffee - it had popping boba in it which was really fun. Neither of these items are available on this week's menu, but everything sounds just as delicious (or maybe even better?) I'm a fan. I love the theme and I love the creative, delicious food made with local ingredients even more. According to their IG the reason they offer preorders is so they know how much to make/prep/and get from the local farms/suppliers- less food waste this way! I'm here for it.
