FurnSaj Bakery & Restaurant offers bomb food with large portions and very friendly staff. It is known as one of the best Lebanese (Mediterranean) spots in San Diego. Customers highly recommend trying the lamb gyro plate or the shawarma, along with the delicious Sajj bread made in-store. The zaatar Mana'ish is also a hit, best paired with yogurt or hummus. The menu can be overwhelming, but the employees are helpful in guiding choices. There are plenty of options available, including at least six vegan-friendly dishes like the impossible wrap, spinach pie, and olive mix. The cozy yet open decor adds to the overall experience, as guests can enjoy the cool breeze with open walls. With large portion sizes and wonderful prices, FurnSaj is a must-visit gem in San Diego. Visitors appreciate the variety of pies, and the staff quickly replace items if needed. The place is simple, healthy Mediterranean meals, with free water and parking space. The large triangular falafel pie, resembling shepherd’s pie inside with a triangular crust, is a favorite and can be shared by two people. The employees greet customers promptly and are attentive. Many customers enjoy to-go options like fattoush salad and vegan kibbeh. The open dining area is centrally located at the start of Hillcrest, making it convenient for visitors. The food is delicious with generous portions, and the service is friendly with a warm smile. The atmosphere is welcoming and full of good vibes, making FurnSaj a highly recommended spot in San Diego.
