Gelato & Friends

A nice small shop for a gelato cup. The flavors were really all fruit flavored as I recall, with some chocolate and caramel type flavors. Personally, I look for traditional Stracciatella and Malaga flavors at gelato shops. The two scoop portion was decent sized.

"The place was not very friendly for a place named 'Gelato & Friends "The flavor were far to strong for my taste while not have the correct texture of a well made/ fresh gelato. My " blueberry & pineapple" tasted entirely like super concentrated pineapple which was a pretty bad combo. Same thing with pink lemonade, way to strong and sour to enjoy.Not worth the $6 spent for my scoop.

Delicious Espresso, Cappuccinos and Italian Pastries…the pastries are imported from Italy!! They are so good. They also have Nitro Cold Brew Coffee on Tap. Don’t miss this place

Gelato and Friends not only offers amazing gelato, but they also make great roman style pizza.I had the Pesto which came with Mozzarella cheese, pesto, sun dried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and fresh arugula. I also had an affogato with vanilla gelato and one shot of espresso.The taglio pizza was terrific. I really enjoyed the crust. with had a good crunch but also a good soft chew on the inside. It was very flavorful too. The pesto was very tasty, the sun dried tomatoes were very good, and the mozzarella cheese was just right.The affogato was bliss. Christina made an excellent shot of espresso and combined with the house vanilla gelato, well like I said, it was just bliss. Great stuff.Whether you are a local, or disembarking from you cruise ship, this place is a great place for lunch and and dessert. They also offer baked goods and espresso based beverages.

Excellent gelato, macaroon was ok. Try the tiramisu gelato, you won't regret it!

Gelato is authentic Italian ! The espresso is amazing ! Forget Starbucks . This gem will save you a trip to Italy ! Auguri!!!

Some of best gelato since being in Italy. Every flavor was very tasty and rich. Good size scoops and perfect location near harbor.

LOVED this gelato! We went to this place on our recent trip to San Diego out of happenstance because it was right near our hotel. From then on, I wanted to return every night! Very yummy gelato and lots of flavor selections. I must say, I am not vegan, but the vegan Dark Chocolate was AMAZING as a chocolate lover. I couldn't even tell that it was vegan and I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend!

Pretty simple gelato operation but very friendly and good quality offerings. Would definitely return when we are in the area.

Great gelato ? place. Very clean store and they have outside seating too.Delicious and authentic gelato. Very friendly staff and attentive . Great location under the Intercontinental hotel and also perfect view of the bay. Portion sizes are reasonable for the price.Highly recommended!

The gelato is great! Customer service this afternoon was not what it was last night. The young girl had such a poor attitude I will not return for the rest of our stay. She thought I was angry about the fact that some flavors were empty, but not at all. The fact that she seemed annoyed to serve was the first issue. But the fact that she gave me back too much change and couldn't even acknowledge me with a "thank you" when I gave her back the extra money was beyond rude. I should've kept the $5 - but I handed it to her, told her she gave me back too much, she grabbed it, put it in the drawer without a word. I say "YOU'RE WELCOME" and then she asks if I have a problem. Is she kidding me? You should re-train or get rid of her. Plenty of other gelato in Cali for our group of 10!!

Today I went into Gelato and Friends and had a wonderful experience. The person there was super attentive and helpful. The options were organize based on water based and dairy based, perfect for those who have dietary restrictions. Looking forward to coming back next week!

I would give 0 star but i can’t. I came to the shop on Sat afternoon, was only me and a staff, she was so rude, she didnt say hello or thank you, her face make me feel like i was begging her for ice cream, she didnt tell me how much i need to pay,i gave her $20 and she gave me change. Gelato was good, location is perfect to walk around the downtown. But i definitely wont come back, dont want to pay for the bad experience.
