Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop

Decided to take our sailor here for his vacation. The place was not very busy. The staff were friendly, but I was a bit disappointed when the ice cream was not served in glasses and instead a plastic cup. Seemed a bit overpriced for the amount you receive.

The ice cream was too runny, which caused it to melt quickly. Regardless, it had a great flavor. The environment is fantastic, despite being located in the heart of Gaslamp, renowned for being one of the best night spots in San Diego.

Parking: Ghirardelli is on a very popular street, so it's typically closed to traffic. Parking can be tough to find in the Gasslamp area.

I visited this Ghirardelli store a few years ago and was excited to finally return. This location is spacious, with plenty of seating, and is clean and well-organized. The customer service was excellent!
I always order a hot chocolate whenever I visit Ghirardelli, it’s my absolute favorite! My husband and boys love their ice cream sundaes, which are always delicious. I also make sure to grab a bag of their sea salt dark chocolate squares to take home.
Visiting a Ghirardelli chocolate store is always a treat, and this location did not disappoint!

A Chocolate Lover's Paradise!

Ghirardelli in the Gaslamp Quarter is a must-visit destination. Located in a historic building, this 'palace of chocolates' offers a simple yet fantastic menu. We indulged in vanilla, chocolate, and coffee, which were served at our table with exceptional service.

While it's a bit pricey, the experience is well worth the cost. Our only suggestion for improvement is to upgrade the seating area with sturdier, more comfortable chairs and tables, which didn't quite meet the Ghirardelli standard.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend Ghirardelli for any chocolate enthusiast!
