Giovanni's Italian Restaurant

This was hands down the best Italian I’ve had. The salad, pasta, and pizza were all so delicious. They were quick to greet and serve us when we arrived. The waitress was very professional, friendly, quick, helpful, and kind. Awesome experience!

Best Italian I have had in a while. Insane huge portions could feed multiple 2-4 per dish. Mozzarella sticks are insane huge and amazing with crunchy outside and amazing cheese pull goodness. Servers are so nice and professional and place was clean.

The food? Excellent. The vibe? Excellent. The service? Fast (and excellent). A small restaurant with an intimate yet upbeat atmosphere. Spent ~$35 per person with an appetizer and dessert. Will absolutely go again!

The food was amazing, the service was so fast! And everything felt homemade in the best way possible. The restaurant itself was so classy and inviting, we had a great experience here! Where most restaurants are nothing noteworthy, Giovanni’s is one I would go out of my way to recommend because it was SO good. All things considered, it was high quality and large portion sizes for a much more decent price than anywhere else we could find in San Diego!

My family and I usually get the Gio’s Special Pizza but decided to try something different! Love Giovanni’s, good for a chill family dinner. Sandwich was good chicken had good flavor. Spaghetti and Meatballs were pretty good, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the meatball type. Definitely try out the pizza if unsure of what to get!

Yesterday, my family and I visited Geovanni’s after spending the day at SeaWorld. When we arrived, we waited to be seated and were asked how many people were in our party. We let the server know we were a group of six. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Instead of trying to accommodate us, the staff member who attended us came across as rude and unhelpful. He refused to make any effort to move tables or find a way to seat us together, and insisted that we needed a reservation. The way this was communicated felt dismissive and unprofessional. At one point, it felt as though he was doing us a favor by offering two separate tables, which would have meant our group being split up during the meal. What made this more frustrating was that the restaurant was not busy there were only two other tables occupied at the time. Because of this experience, we chose not to stay and instead went to another restaurant. Overall, it was a very unpleasant first impression.

I went in the evening around 7pm on a Thursday. The atmosphere was very lively saw a big family group. Couples at the bar. Lots of pick up orders. The service was great Nick (i hope i remember his name corectly) came by and checked on our table several times throughout our visit. The food menu is just amazing i didnt know what to pick. I went with the eggplant parm and it didnt disappoint. The freshness of ingredients and the size of the dish was worth every penny. Pricing seemed very fair and on the lower end aswell which was a plus. My son had the kids spaghetti and my wife had a wrap all very good. The bar has a nice Padres Bobblehead collection 👌

My first visit here was such a great experience. The ambiance here caught me off guard. I felt like I was in an Italian restaurant in Italy. The decor and style of the restaurant is refreshing. The food and drinks are delicious. I ordered the Reuben sandwich while my guests ordered Italian dishes. I recommend this place and look forward to another visit.
