Took my 3 year old son Sunday morning. Orange juice and lemonade were excellent. He really liked the warm ham and cheese croissant. Service was kind and excellent. Thank you guys!

I was standing around like a dummy while multiple workers just looked at me and acted busy while the manager was chating away with a regular, no care in the world about anything else and then I look in the back and the guy frosting cakes is licking the knife

A local favorite with fresh & good choices. The pastries and cookies in the window will draw you in and the cute bistro tables just outside are a must and are especially nice off season.

Why would an iconic La Jolla establishment risk losing 40-50% of its customers by making distasteful anti Trump political statements. You're better than this!!

I just made my first purchase at Girard Gourmet. I learned about this place after a holiday lunch at which someone contributed a quiche from this place. The quIche was excellent, and that aroused my curiosity. Tonight I chose a chicken pot pie and a slice of lasagne. I reheated the pot pie at home for dinner tonight. My plate is all but licked clean. The flavor was laudable. Not a lot of chicken, but that's not as important as taste for me..lovely herbs, all of which I could not identify, but absolutely great flavor. So why only 4 stars? In my reheating, the bottom and top crust of the pot pie came out absolutely mushy. I looked on line for best ways to heat a chicken pot pie, and followed suggestion to cover with foil and heat at 350° for 20 minutes. Well, I only heated for 10 minutes, and then removed foil as suggested, for another 5 minutes. The pot pie was perfect temp, and not dry at all. But crust was a mushy mess. I can tell by the edges of the pie that original crust was perfect. I guess best test would be to order the chicken pot pie and eat at the restaurant next time. I'll happily repeat this dish.. Next dish I bought is a slice of lasagne that I plan to reheat tomorrow. I'll update review at that time. I was told by guy behind counter to reheat in microwave. I'm thinking there's a better way so I'll do some research..
