Not a great experience, from them not caring about a man threatening people and the workers, (no action was taken), to the ridiculous wait times, (over 50 minutes for two sides that didnt need baking), to literally other people (white folks) ordering lots of food after us and getting their food before us, while me and the only other coloured tables waited and saw everyone else get their food. Im sure it wasnt intentional but left a bad taste. Would not recommend, food taste was okay, not amazing.

Ordered online and it was about an hour and 15 minute wait on a Friday evening, walked over and picked it up! The staff members were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The pizza was so delicious and HUGE. Best pizza in SD!

This place is amazing!!!!!! We ordered the Hungry Hippo (added Artichoke and Jalapeño) and pepperoni pizza. Both pizzas were delicious. We ordered online for pickup. Walking the place looks amazing, great atmosphere. Family friendly. Very clean place as well. I definitely recommend Gnarly Girl Pizza.

Got the Keto Pizza Bowl that isn't on the menu, but I saw on a IG post from over 1.5 yrs ago. 8 toppings, covered in Mozzarella (Motz for them), with garlic oil (or red sauce or pink sauce) was $15 a piece and we waited for about 40-minutes to get them. We ended up ordering behind two of their BIG garlic knot crusted pizzas which take longer to bake. It was HEARTY and about 1,350 calories from what we rebuilt in the food app. If you're looking to stay away from crust, egg, gluten, etc, it's a great option. Definitely eat it at lunch time.. or split it. There are two bathrooms as well.

This is San Diego’s only lesbian-owned pizza place. My fiancé and I rocked up with a group of lesbians to try it out. We were immediately greeted by a big, beautiful butch serving pizza and beer.
The food was good, but a bit overpriced. We decided that, as it was Pride month, this was reasonable.
Service was slow because it was crowded and business was good, but you won’t notice if you’re with good company.

The team in charge on Father's day evening 2025... Absolutely crushed. I've been coming here since they opened, and the execution of the pie that night... Was per-fec-tion. From the thickness of the dough to the immaculate topping ratios and distributio... just, flawless victory. That's the A team, in case anyone was wondering. Also, don't sleep on their wings. Parking is non-existent, but the decor is fun and crew is chill enough to make it worth going in.
Might be a smidge pricier than Luigi's, but worth it when you have the time and that hungry hippo in ya'!
