Love the atmosphere I've never sat to eat here but everytime I get takeout it's delicious I used to get it for my co workers at jack in the box. Really good restaurant. Right off the 163 freeway

The Salt and pepper wings are the best I’ve ever had in San Diego let alone in my life! The Hot&Sour soup is out of this world!

A friend and I decided to try this place for lunch.
The server was Excellent. I think her name was Jenny. My friend had Orange Chicken.
It was a large portion and the lunch came with either Egg Flower soup or Hot & Sour.
Both were very good.
It also came with delicious Egg Rolls, crispy Won Tons as well as steamed or fried rice.
I had Pork Egg Foo Young and it was Excellent.
Hard to find Egg Foo Young on menus.
Extremely clean and pleasant atmosphere.
I can hardly wait to go back and try other items on their large lunch menu.

Golden City is a local business that offers a great variety of delicious menu choices. Our family enjoys gathering here for a traditional Chinese family meal. They have large round tables where 10 people can sit comfortably and share dishes. We typically order a family combination meal with one entree per person, soup, rice, and appetizers. The portions are generous, and we always have food to take home.
Kid-friendliness: There were a number of families with small children .

I've eaten here a few times now and wished I had tried this place sooner. The pepper beef tenderloin was really fantastic the last time I was here. The wor wonton was also excellent, and the service was attentive and food came quickly. I've long been going to Dumpling Inn, but the menu here is more extensive. I've been impressed, and I can see why it's usually pretty busy the times I've been for dinner.

This may just be the best Chinese food in San Diego. Not a place you would usually go to or find easily. It was just convenience near my parents house. After trying it, the food tastes clean. And by clean I mean not overdone with spices or over saturated work oil or badly deep fried etc. Panda would be on the other end of this spectrum. Recommended for take out, the restaurant itself is nothing special the ambiance is bland. Although we eat in often, we go there for the food and not the experience.

Panda Express advanced version. The tenderness and size of the meat and vegetables are much better. Even if you bring alcohol, they give you a glass at no additional cost, so you can bring wine and drink it. I think it would be appropriate for three people to order two dishes. The hot and sour soup was really delicious.

Takeout: waited 45 minutes on top of 30 minute expected time. Customer service was not good. Food is subpar. Spent 50 only ate about 5 dollars worth. Nobody was at the front, so the walk to the back for pickup was awkward.

Golden City is the OG of Chinese Restaurants which has been in San Diego for decades from my parents generation. We had a family gathering with two tables of 10. We had to video call those who couldn’t attend. GC offered free wifi that I was able to use on my iPad.The kids table ordered mainly fried foods but our adult table ordered the below. We ordered too much that the lazy Susan ran out of room and had to use the empty table next to us.-Braised yee noodles w mushroom - much chewier than chow mein, mushroom sauce was yummy-Vegetarian chow fun - choice of dry or wet (gravy). I like dry but decided for gravy and never again. I like the char not drenched in sauce.-Mu shu vegetable - it’s like a burrito wrapped in thin flour tortilla. Came in 4 which was filling after one.-Salted fish fried rice w chicken - a must whenever at a Chinese restaurant-Honey walnut shrimp - a must-Fisherman style crab - only had one level of spice-Crabmeat & fish maw soup - very little crab and lots of maw-Peking duck lettuce wrap two course: first course came with crispy thin duck skin with baos and the second came with lettuce-Egg plant w spicy garlic sauce - had onions, bamboo shoots and green bell peppers, not spicyOverall, a nostalgic place for the elders. Food was average and came out quick. Service was exceptional. 3.5 rounding to 4.

Food was disappointing. Ordered 20 crab ragoons and only two pieces actually had crab in them. Staff was also rude about me picking up my order. Definitely don’t plan on coming back here ever again!

The worst Chinese food I have ever had. Soup was water, chicken was slimey, fried rice was not fried. Totally disgusting. Never order from here.
