Truly the best donuts and baked goods in San Diego. Located in an unassuming strip mall near a laundromat, possibly owned by the same owners.
I find that most donut shops in the city use a similar recipe for their dough, but something about Golden Donut’s recipe for its dough is different - a little bit sour with a peppery taste.
The thing that originally led me to GD was the fact that, oddly, they served iced Vietnamese coffee which I had been looking for in San Diego. However, they don’t have many other beverage choices apart from Thai iced teas.
There are some interesting flavors that have popped up, like a banana turnover and matcha donuts. Would love to see more of these unique items on the menu.
Vegetarian options: Almost everything is vegetarian but the maple bacon donuts
Parking: Parking can be challenging as it shares the parking lot with multiple businesses. Constant traffic in and out. Parking on the street but might have to walk.
Wheelchair accessibility: As far as I can tell, not step to enter the shop and is flat inside

Nice little family joint. Great mix of traditional donuts, a few filled with custard etc. Multiple double chocolate cake with toppings. Only glazed donut holes.

The best chocolate old fashion donuts are here!!!!
Stopped in for an iced coffee and donut on a weekday, I'm not even a fan of donuts but this one was delicious! I was a bit overwhelmed with the flavors when I walked in so I just went with a cinnamon donut but will have to be back to try more. Perfect place to stop for a quick coffee too with ample parking, will be back often for that coffee yummmm.

Wish there was a Krispy Kreme in north park. I have been going here since I moved here out of convenience. Way overpriced for mediocre donuts that are equivalent to any donut you can get at a seven eleven. On top of that, the donuts are almost always old and stale. Choking on a rock hard, stale, obviously old Apple fritter as I’m typing. Do better! You don’t just get to over charge for sub par product just because this is California…or wait…maybe you can.
Staff is very friendly and quick. They have Vietnamese coffee and regular coffee w a variety of creamers.

Everything you expect out of the corner donut shop. The donuts were a bit more dry than I like, but the green thai iced tea was AMAZING. would highly recommend the thai iced tea if you go. The two ladies working the front had great customer service. I will be back!
