This is your typical Cantonese Chinese food restaurant. My husband and I just got back from Mexico and were looking for a spot that would be open on New Year's day, that was close to the freeway on our way home to Whittier. This place really hit the spot. Their hot and sour soup was spot on. My husband was offered yellow chilies. He did not know what he would get, but he was very pleased with the large yellow chilis. He loved them. It's the first time I have seen a Chinese restaurant cater to Mexican tastes. We ordered the Canton Chicken because it had vegetables. It was crunchy and yummy with the broccoli perfectly cooked. The Canton chow mein was very tasty and had good flavor. I think we found our go to spot after returning from our trips to Mexico. The place was super clean, service was great and the food came right away. I really liked this place because of its convenient proximity to the CBX and the 805 freeway. The prices were reasonable and we ended up taking leftovers home because it was an abundant amount of food. We ordered three dishes from which 3 or 4 people could eat.

Ordered online with a 15 min pickup time. Got there 20 min later and they took my phone number and said it would be ready soon. I ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes. Checked 3 separate times and was told they were working on it. Finally I asked again and they said they didn’t have the order anywhere. So they redid the order and I was on my way. When I got home, one of the dishes was wrong. Instead of Mongolian beef I got a peanut and green onion sauce with a couple pieces of beef. Wild.

BF and I went down for New Year's Eve dinner. The place was hoppin' with pick up orders for parties. Lots of chicken wings heading out the door. Service was polite and prompt. Food came out quickly, a magical feat considering there must have been at least 20 parties waiting for pick ups. Fried rice was very tasty today, smokey and fresh. Crispy beef was the best it's ever been. Chicken wings and Mongolian beef were not quite as good. $76 after tax, before tip, with 2 iced teas. My BF loves this place and considers it well worth the 40 mile round trip. Happy ending to the year!
