I have been coming to this donut shop whenever I’m visiting family in San Diego. The most stapled donut that I remembered is the cream cheese filling or the cheese danish. Due to new ownerships, those items were removed from the selections. Until recently, I asked the lady if they were able to make the same specific donuts and said yes and as long as the 24 hour given in advance. I ordered 5, for $18.00.
I picked up the donuts and was so excited to have some, but I was leaving SD back to Hawaii and unable to have a bite. When we arrived home, I opened the box and had a bite. This is when my disappointment happened. The cheese was just a regular cream cheese. Granted the lady mentioned that it is the same ingredients since the original owner still comes every Tuesday. It was not the same from original owner. It’s bland and it’s full of sadness. Lady from the front, please do better when promoting the most iconic donuts that people love from the past. We don’t just buy donuts from Goodies, we come there to have the taste of what we called bringing back memories. I will not stop coming, and will give this one more time and hope the right ingredients is used next time.

I would come to this donut shop literally every single day for donuts and a coffee. Sometimes even twice a day! I was a regular customer but I decided today after being treated like I wasn't anyone important twice now, to stop purchasing from here and go to Barrio Donuts instead.
The young lady in the mornings has the customer service of a rock with little honest care, or concern for customers. I've seen her in action a few times with customers, she is very cold and harsh. I don't know if this is due to a language barrier but it's very obvious this is an obligation for her.
Her husband is incredibly kind, sweet, friendly and caring though and I only wish he were there more often to make my spending worth while! Customer service is part of what I pay, and I just didn't get it here with the younger lady working mornings. But the donuts and coffee were decent enough to keep coming back, so I did.
I requested a specific donut be made for me one morning, expecting it to be well made considering I'm a regular customer but it was made pretty terribly. It was double dipped in chocolate making it too sweet and the donut itself was dented with finger holes (from when they double dipped it I'm guessing.) The bacon looked squashed ontop of it... it was a horrible mess I only had a single bite of and threw out.
After that I felt burned by this place because if I come in here everyday, have the decency to make me a good donut! I've established a relationship with your business as a regular customer. I'm loyal to you, so treat me well!
But no...
Today was the final straw when I was accidently charged 4 times for my purchase due to their technical issues, which is understandable and I was willing to work with.
What was NOT understandable was how cold, and defensive the younger woman who serves in the morning was being when clearly you took my money 4 times!
She argued with me about where the money had gone, even telling me, "well, that's not from us." Until I showed her it indeed was.
The donuts and coffee here are about as good as any other donut shop but the customer service from this woman is atrocious. Go to Barrio Donuts instead. They have way better donuts, atmosphere, customer service and coffee!
I will gladly no longer be giving my customer loyalty to this place since they could care less about loyalty mine to them.

Their croissants barely have any butter. Zero flakiness. Tastes like literal bread? eggy aftertaste
The people that work here are always super friendly . Doughnuts never disappoints. We love coming here in the mornings before my son starts school. I recommend this place if you’re in the neighborhood.

I grew up in the neighborhood and was both sad and happy that Norm and Jie (original owners for 30+ years) had finally decided to retire.Unfortunately, The new bakers just aren’t as good. I’ve tried going back and supporting them but the donuts aren’t what they use to be. They’re smaller, uneven and the frosty is both thick and super thin from donut to donut. It’s like they don’t take pride in what they’re doing and are just there to work.I took my family members and they all made similar comments about the donuts. My niece wanted a sprinkled donut but they were so small and the frosting was dried out and there were spots where the sprinkles had fallen off and left the donut spotted. Everything was uneven and the none of the donuts were uniformKind of sad to see things have taken a turn south
Better then average tasting donut shop
