Been coming here for years and nothing I've ordered has ever let me down or made me feel regret. Whether you're ordering the tofu soup, BBQ, or appetizers you always leave satisfied. On top of that, the banchan ALWAYS tastes freshly made and always hits the spot. Other places have the driest fish cake and it makes you wonder how long it's been sitting on the counter. It's too good to let the banchan go to waste. Service is fast, but they still maintain quality, so no complaints here. Great for groups of 4This is my first time getting the spicy raw marinated crab. It's about 6 whole crabs you can probably split between 2-3 people for $30. It is not too spicy, more on the mild end. Some places make it too spicy sometimes. I'd come back for the spicy raw crabs again.Seafood pancake - good mix of meat and veggies. Not too much. Not too little. It's super crispy on the outside but not burnt.Japchae - good flavors and not bland. It's not overpowered by sesame oil like most places. You can't go wrong with dumplings either whether it's fried or boiled.

This was my second time dining in. The first time I went one of the waitresses who work there seems to be nice and friendly, but NOT THIS TIME. Lots of attitude and silences from the waitress who was serving us. The banchans (side dishes) were overwhelmingly salty and most of the items listed on the menu were overpriced for the amount and taste of food they have to offer. I ordered the LA galbi and packed them home since I couldn't finish it. When I tried to finish them this morning, I figured there was a piece of stainless steel from the scrubber that was attached to the galbi...which is DISGUSTING. When I asked for two to-go boxes for the food I ordered, the waitress grudgely packed one of the items for us and carelessly walked away, leaving us to pack the galbi ourselves without saying anything. I was SO CONFUSED. I WILL NOT come back here and DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone.

I only did not want to give a good decent rating only because I believe it’s all about customer service, taste of the food and cleanliness when it comes to restaurants. We had made an order for the group and had asked if the meal came with rice, she said yes. She did not mention to us that it was the purple rice. When I was taking a picture of the menu, the lady had grabbed it with force instead of waiting for me to hand it to her. Some of the utensils were dirty and the plate too. It had like a hard residue. At first I thought it was water stains but as soon as I touched it to confirm, it was like a hard residue of something. We did not bother to say something because we were already uncomfortable from saying something before the food was even served. Overall, the price is a little high for me for the amount of food that we had. It’s good to eat in here if you don’t have a big appetite and you just want a little portion but if it’s a bigger group and you want to enjoy, I definitely do not recommend since it is not a buffet style (not unlimited) for the meats or the sides.

Overall the food is pretty good, but I recommend sticking to the tofu soups. The prices are high across the board, but the food is meh for many options other than the tofu soup. I prefer the mixed seafood tofu soup and have gotten it many times. I will say that the maximum spicy level is not super spicy if you have a good spice tolerance.

My favorite traditional Korean restaurant! Great food and great atmosphere. They always give you a lot of food which is awesome. Some portions are quite big so I recommend sharing like the Kimchi Pajeon. Also recommend going right when they open for lunch at around 11-12. Not many people and they are usually quicker to get your order out.Parking: It shares small parking lot with Cross Street and a few other shops so parking there is limited unless you get there right when they open. The better option is street parking just a quick block away.

Pretty solid Korean food in the convoy area. They offer a plethora of different Korean dishes from bbq to stews, to noodles, to stir fried dishes. There's something for everyone depending on what you're craving! My go-to is their soft tofu soup (soondubu), which comes in a bubbling hot ceramic pot and they have a variety of options from vegetarian to meat and seafood. You can adjust your spice level from non spicy to spicy. It comes with an egg that you can crack into your bubbling hot soup, but I always ask the kitchen to crack it in for me while it's still cooking. The best part is the purple rice it comes with. It's fluffy, chewy, and cooked to perfection. At the end, don't forget to add hot water to the pot where you leave the last layer of rice to create nurungi (scorched rice) soup. My favorite part of the meal! The ban Chan (side dishes) are complimentary and delicious! They change it up every once it a while and there's a lot of variety. Free parking in their lot! Pro tip: go get dessert at bing haus a couple doors down to cool down after your meal.

The food was alright, on the other hand the service was disappointing. Our young server Gemma had a condescending tone every time she served us and kept rushing us to order in the beginning, no customer service experience at all. She seems like she does not care for her job or the customers. Not a good look for the restaurant.

I ordered 2 sundubu's (Soft tofu stew) and was extremely disappointed. The flavor of the soup was flat, flavorless, and left much to be desired. The amount of meat that was "included" was as minimal as possible, and the ratio of meat to tofu was disappointing to say the least. I really tried to finish this soup, but ultimately could not. As I said, the soup itself was extremely watered down and not even the correct color (Because of added water or stock/broth to manipulate the "volume" of the soup). I see many good reviews on this, and who knows? Maybe they just had a crappy day and I picked the short straw. Still not a good first impression and will no longer be ordering from here.A disclaimer: If anyone here is new to Korean cuisine, I promise you this-This isn't it. I recommend ordering/dining-in at Friends House Korean also located on Convoy. They get it right every single time-the flavors, the atmosphere, the meat/veggies/tofu ratio, the food portions for a good price point is always spot on. The only reason why I took a chance and ordered from Grandma Barfu is because Friends House was not accommodating deliveries today due to a high demand in orders. Which goes to show how much better it is. Take it from me. Order from other places like Friends House and get your money's worth for quality and portion-and of course, authentic Korean cuisine.

Better rating is mostly for the food. Terrible service though. Very slow and inconsiderate older team members. The newer team member is nice and eager, but can only do so much without the proper guidance.Tables were dirty when we came. Had a bit of leftover spices and was sticky. There were two other tables eating beside ours. The new waitress introduced herself. It was her first day, but her service was superior compared to her seniors. Even when she was eating she still was eager and wanted to know if we needed anything. She was nice, but unfamiliar which was okay since it’s her first day. I felt bad asking her for things while she was on break, so I looked to her senior. I had to call more than two times when the senior passed my table to get her attention. The senior with the bright pink lipstick that was training the junior had terribly awful service. Extremely lazy and an expert at finding ways to escape work. It was her junior doing everything. From placing our order, bringing us tea, to closing out our check.Just a clarification, only the senior with the pink lipstick was awful. The other senior lady was nice and even asked how we were. The reason why I say the senior with pink lipstick is awful is because she finds shortcuts and had problems with her attitude. The bibimbap (mixed rice) that we ordered came but with no rice. They said we have to wait for the rice. By the time we are almost half finished with our other orders, the rice still hasn’t come so we gave them a gentle reminder. One of the side dishes only came with two pieces of tofu. That is fine. We finished it and asked for more. The senior came back and only put one piece in. She didn’t have a good attitude.I also asked for tea since it was a cold day. They gave me one cup for our whole table. Then for the rice pot, the store usually pours tea into it. I asked the senior and she said I could use the cup of tea on my table to pour instead. I looked at her bewildered and she responded that it’s the same tea they use to pour. I know that, but there wasn’t enough tea in my small cup to pour into the rice pot. This was just her being lazy. Other team members poured tea into the rice pot for me before.Lastly, I did not see an itemized receipt. They just took my card and charged it. I got to see the total at least…Parking: A little crowded

Small meat portions. Didn't get much service once food came out. Didn't see a service button on the table. Wanted a side dish refill. Water tastes like bad tap (chlorine metallic taste)

Really good first impression for this restaurant. Almost seat yourself and then menu and water came out quickly. Ordering was simple, they have numbers by every item to allow quick and simple order. One thing that I missed and wasn't followed up on by server was if I wanted something to drink other than water.Food was excellent and full of flavor. Heat level was good for what I ordered. Beef bulgogi was surprisingly sweeter than I expected. Spoon and chopsticks provided to eat, metal sticks I found slick and somewhat difficult to operate but my companion handled them fine.Overall definitely will be back and definitely recommend.
