Grant Grill is a classic San Diego business-hotel restaurant, but in the best possible way — polished, elegant, and consistently pleasant. We’ve visited twice recently: once for lunch and again for an early pre-theatre dinner, and both visits were excellent. Service really stands out. Our server, Vince, was fantastic — genuinely friendly, attentive, and professional. He elevated the whole experience without ever being intrusive. I ordered the tuna, which was beautifully prepared and full of fresh, clean flavor. Their cocktails are also a highlight — balanced, creative, and very well made. My husband had the burger and enjoyed it a lot. We both left very happy with our meals. While some people come here for business meetings or hotel stays, it also works perfectly for a relaxed lunch or a pre-theatre dinner. Comfortable atmosphere, great service, good food, and excellent cocktails — we’ll definitely be back.

We had amazing service. A very nice young man waited on us I think his name was Chris. He did not seem to mind that we were visiting with friends from out of town and taking our time. The food was terrific came out and talked to us and sent some tuna out for my salad. A great experience overall!

My friends and I were there for a birthday weekend and the team made it so special!! We had a wonderful meal and they brought us a delicious cheesecake for the “birthday girl”. Friendly service and gave us a bag of ice for our water bottles. Highly recommend!!!!

Stayed for two nights at the U.S. Grant and had multiple meals (dinner and brunch) at the Grant Grill that were great. Unfortunately Sunday brunch was not up to the same standards as the previous meals. First, it took awhile to get the orders in with our server. Additionally, the server did not warn us that there were certain food items unavailable prior to making my selection. After nearly waiting 30 minutes for our meal, I was told by the expeditor that they were out of white, wheat, and sourdough bread that was supposed to be included with my meal. While I understand that there were multiple parties and to-go orders made prior to my reservation at 10:00 am., it was disappointing that no one from the server or even management stopped by my table to let us know that the kitchen was backed up, or out of food, or simply stopped by to say anything about the long delays in the delivery of the food. It was just a disappointing experience given the stellar food and service the previous times I dined at the restaurant.

Appetizer order was forgotten but manager and server were so gracious and kind. Totally made up for everything. Great customer service by comping us, ckg on us several times and the apology. Great way to make sure customer is happy!

Special thanks to the Chef! We decided on Grant Grill for our anniversary dinner an we could not have been more thankful we did. We were treated like royalty and return customers even though this was our first visit. There is no doubt that this will be a go to spot for special occasions from now on. Live music was great and at the right level were we could have a conversation without effort. Even though the restaurant was full and we were relatively close to the bar, it never felt loud at any point. the service and food was perfect, leaving us not wanting for anything. Special thanks to the Chef for a perfect experience on a special night.
Everyone was so welcoming and super friendly service was immaculate. Our waiters were very helpful and we had a wonderful experience we will definitely be back when we come back to town.
