Nice atmosphere. Casually classy and not stuffy. Food was overrated in my opinion in general. But I did enjoy my dish very mush, the brisket breakfast hash. I think I enjoyed my food the most.

This place has a lot of funky, beautiful people. I had the French toast logs logs. That's enough breakfast for 3 days! Fluffy delicious!

It’s such an interesting menu and a vibrant atmosphere, the flavors are spot on…not too buttery or sweet, a perfect mix of sophisticated and humble. Been twice this month!

I made a reservation on OpenTable for brunch here on a Friday and we were sat a few minutes early! They had plenty of staff on hand that seemed very organized. All the food was delicious and all the food we saw on other tables looked delicious as well. We even got some beignets to go, which were unreal! A little messy, though, so much powdered sugar! 😂

The food was amazing. It was busy because it was brunch time on a Saturday but since I made a reservation we were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival

Never disappointed. A bit pricey but an exceptional restaurant for special times together. You'll not be disappointed. Their signature menu is world class... Order the French Toast logs, you'll never forget it...

The Great Maple isn't just a restaurant;
It's an experience that defines elevated comfort food in San Diego. From the moment you walk into the stylish, mid-century modern-inspired space in Hillcrest, you know you're in for something special. The combination of warm, sophisticated decor and the friendly buzz of happy diners creates an instantly inviting atmosphere.
Let's talk about the food. Every dish is a testament to transforming American classics into something extraordinary. You absolutely must start with the Famous Maple Bacon Doughnuts—they are warm, perfectly glazed, and the savory hint of bacon makes them an addictive masterpiece.
For brunch, the Smoked Brisket Hash is a powerhouse of flavor, featuring perfectly smoked meat, crispy potatoes, and runny poached eggs that tie it all together. For a main course, the Lobster Poutine is a decadent, East Coast-meets-West Coast revelation. The quality of the ingredients is evident in every bite, from the responsibly sourced seafood to the farm-fresh meat.
What truly seals the five-star rating, however, is the impeccable service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, making you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer.
If you're looking for a spot that delivers on style, incredible flavor, and fantastic hospitality, stop searching. The Great Maple is a must-try in San Diego for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Go, and prepare to be delighted!

I was standing in the bathroom line, and the manager with dyed red hair ( I assume she was a manager.) Was so rude to one of the employees in the bathroom line. That is so unappealing in every way. Treat your employees like humans.

Ordered both Chef specials of the night. Huge portions, my boyfriend and I could have easily dined off just one plate and still would of had leftovers. The risotto with rock shrimp was wonderful with the perfectly tender shrimp in silky, cheesy risotto. The fried chicken with French toast logs was impressive for both the eyes and our appetite. Our waiter Josh was prompt, informative, friendly, and attentive. Absolute pleasure.
