Great Maple - Hillcrest

The food is consistently excellent! Our favorite starter is the maple donuts, a definite must! We have taken numerous local friends as well as out-of-towners for brunch and lunch. In our opinion, one of San Diego's very best!

Referred by a friend and colleague t did not disappoint. 100000000/10 recommend!!! The maple donuts, the beignets, and the quiche were delightful. Delicious, moist, flavorful, exceeded expectations! Best breakfast we experienced anywhere ever!!!

Food and portions are excellent! It is often very busy especially on weekends and parking availability is very bad, as it is in most of Hillcrest. Be prepared to spend at least 10 min parking and walking over since the small lot fills fast. Service is fine but again with it being busy they are not the most attentive.

Overcrowded inside and extremely loudly. Ok outside. Service extremely slow and little accuracy. Food just Ok. Price not adequate to the food quantity. Overall a negative experience.

5 stars all around. This place never disappoints, great drinks, service and a wide variety of delicious appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts!!

Definitely get a reservation because this place is busy. Parking is very limited so get there early. Had the pickle Bloody Mary and the pickle was as big as the glass! Delicious. Got the smoked brisket with poached eggs. Really good. Portions are huge. Got the maple bacon donuts to go and those were AMAZING.

I love breakfast spots. My girlfriend had been wanting to go here for a while. We came out. My girlfriend got the bacon blueberry French toast and was amazed on how large the slices of bread were. I had a margarita and a coffee and asked for the special ribeye platter breakfast item. Every part of it was great except how steak was cooked. I wasn't asked how I would like the steak cooked and it came out well done. Other than that had a great time thank you.

I tend to bring my family and friends here when they come to visit, everyone I bring LOVES it just as much as I do. The Beef Brisket never disappoints either, pretty much the only thing I get there. I definitely enjoy coming here before 10am during the weekdays because it's just not so crowded, in general the weekdays aren't as crazy as the weekends but I love that they're on OpenTable to setup a reservation which makes it easier during those busy days. Service was great, I've only had one service issue but that that was maybe two years ago during restaurant week and I don't see that server working there any more either (low key was an odd experience that time honestly lol) but that didn't stop me from coming in especially since I understood why that server at the time was how they were. But that aside, they're all super friendly and have great recommendations for newcomers, they table touch but also don't constantly check in and they're great and reading their sections and seeing when a table is ready to wrap things up without trying to rush you out either like some places. It's such a great spot and their staff are very hospitable which I really appreciate because that along with how great the food is will make me keep coming back and bring my family & friends too.

Food was good service was subpar. Had to ask another waitress for our check since our waitress hadn't check in on us for 30 mins.

A great spot in hillcrest, a lot of food for the money. Maple bacon donuts are a must try!

Hands down one of the best brunch places to go to if you want amazing service, the best portions, and yummy food. House smoked brisket hash was 10/10! My friends and I ordered the maple bacon donuts to share and we loved it!

The best Crab Cake Sandwich I've had! The taste, the seasoning (slightly spicy) and the portion of the crab cake patty was generous. I was not a fan of the Bacon Maple Donuts because it was on the doughy side. I was expecting it to be light and fluffy but the bacon bits and generous maple glaze was worth it. My friends from out of town enjoyed their meals as well. Will come back and recommend.
