I went up to the bar. There were two other customers in the place. I asked for a flight to try the beer. I was told I had to go to the table and wait for a server. She came buy about 10 minutes later. Told me she had a big table and would be back in about 10 minutes so we left. I only had about 20 minutes. I just wanted to try their beer but apparently the bartender was way too busy with the two customers he had.

Showed a European driving license and the bartender would accept it, required a “US valid identification”. Simply funny
This was an amazing brewery option in downtown San Diego offering more than just the typical IPAs found everywhere. I am sad that they are closing down.

Their beer was wonderful but don't order any food anymore, they serve microwave-cocked meals only. They used to serve great but, not anymore. If you rush to eat within 5 minutes after ordering, go for it.

My friends and I went for brunch. We were so excited to hang out and enjoy delicious drinks and food. What a disappointment. The food was all disgusting. The turkey on the sandwich was slimy. The fries seemed old. The chicken on the sandwich was ok, but the rest of the sandwich seemed… off. The pretzel bites aren’t pretzels but heavy overly buttery dough and the cheese that they served with it was… chunky and not very warm. The goat cheese balls were overwhelming and not heated all the way through. The bottomless mimosas seemed like mostly OJ. The only positive was the service. Our server (woman) was super nice and attentive and seemed to be genuinely bummed our food sucked. We all ended up with gross stomach troubles later on too. I have always liked Half Door previously but we all decided that the thought of going back there again skeeves us out. We don’t have alot of opportunities to gather and brunch so to have a good experience taken from us really bothered me.
And btw the ONE thing everyone was excited for (breakfast bites) was taken off the menu.

I like this place, I do. But I am not a fan when the website is ridiculously wrong when it comes to beer available. You can’t tell me “yeah most of what we have online is wrong.” UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE THEN!!!!
Great beers and friendly staff

I really wanted to like this place, but the food was bad and service was super slow. The fried goat cheese balls were still cold in the center, I ate them anyway. The flatbread was inedible, it looked great, but tasted like the fridge or freezer. The pretzel bites were just dense balls of cooked dough with little salt and little flavor, as they cooled they just became more dense. After I ordered a beer, it took 25 minutes to be delivered by the server. They were very nice to my dog, and were friendly, but between the food and long waits, I won't be returning.

The atmosphere is like something out of restoration hardware meets vintage antique shop. Not sure of the history but it appears to be an old house that was converted into a restaurant.
The food was underwhelming to be honest. The fried chicken sandwich was okay. It did taste as if it was fried in old oil. Additionally, the cook cut into the fried breast, presumably to ensure it was cooked. It was obvious it was put back in the fryer after cutting into it. As a result, it was a little dry and stringy.

Great place with amazing beers
Great brewery with greater beers. Ample seating inside and on the patio. The hazy IPA was very good. Good vibes and music.
