I’m not much of a reviewer unless an establishment is amazing or the opposite.
I must take the time to let everyone know that this was the BEST fish and sushi that I’ve ever had. It was incredibly fresh and each dish was better than the next. It is most certainly worth the price (although less expensive than some other spots). The drinks were also suberb and service was excellent and genuine.
Don’t be fooled by the exterior appearance. Once you go inside, it’s chic and modern.
Absolutely will give Hane 10+ stars.

Hostess/waitress asked us to leave after 1-1.5 hours to free up table space.
Overpriced small pieces of mediocre Sushi.
The uni was very tiny and extremely fishy. When we mentioned it, the hostess/waitress rudely told us that “it’s very special Uni from Japan and it’s normal to taste fishy!”
Wow, really?
I have eaten uni for many years and never had such poor quality, never should it taste or smell fishy! At least they could’ve given us a little credit, but she charged us the full price, even though I returned one of the two pieces because it tasted so bad.
San Diego certainly has better Sushi restaurants!
We did, however, enjoy the atmosphere and the fact that most of their Sushi chefs looked authentic. Not returning.

Best sushi in San Diego! I prefer it over the other top dogs Ken Sushi, Moment, and Sushi Ota.
If you sit at the counter ask for Roger he is the best.
It was recommended from the Hilton. However they would not seat us and said that the bar was full even though it wasn't. Very poor service and pretentious atmosphere. We went to Lumi Sushi instead and it was amazing!

The food was outstanding, and it was definitely the best sushi I have had in San Diego! 10/10 in every category. I highly recommend the himachi Habanero ponzu, the mushroom salad, and the spicy yellowtail role. We ordered a bunch of food for the table, and everything was incredibly fresh and well prepared.

I always walk past this place every day and just happened to stumbled in here last night, I was pretty waisted. That being said the staff was very hospitable, was very social and took care of me hahahhaha omg I'm embarrassed. Well I ordered food to go and it was amazing, very good food. I highly recommend this place.

Hane is by far the best sushi place in Banker's Hill and one of our two favorites in all of San Diego. It is very fresh and very authentic. We love dining in and taking out

Really good food and service
S Tier sushi in San Diego. There may be better, but it'll be hard to find beyond a niche omakase place.
Outstanding sushi. Very fresh.
Amazing experience with ultra cold beer on tap.
