Their happy hour specials are so good!! Loved the kale salad with battered fries, and the chicken parm sliders were incredible. The Baja Blast alcoholic slushee is insane!! Such a fun place with good seating and attentive service.

Very cool cocktails. The Super Grass was a really interesting drink. The Pandan adds a baked/pastry like layer to the drink that I found fantastic. All in all, the team was really cool even to last call. Would revisit for sure

The bouncer here was so kind and friendly, he made *my night after the bouncer down at seven grand was pretty rude to me (and I wound up having to pry my id out of his hands after telling him I wouldn’t be coming in- based on How he was treating me over there). I had let my date know I wouldn’t be going in to the first place and said I understood if he didn’t want to go elsewhere, but he came out and we walked down to this bar instead…here, the bouncer had a whole different vibe: he was attentive and watching who was coming in, but he was warm & welcoming. I got an apple martini (yes, I’m a little older but it’s a great drink) and it was so incredibly good and well made. I felt so calm and relaxed in this atmosphere- the bar tender was also very chill and polite. I drove from pretty far but I would definitely come here again. Thank you so much for making my night better after the other bouncer was so rude. Not the best date ever but the drink was amazing **I live pretty far but plan to come back soon based on how welcoming the employees were and how good the drink was..the bar tender literally made it perfect

Finally a bar that knows how to treat paying customers!!! Your stuff (Al and Sky)are on point with serving water and coming back to the table for fill ups. Food is solid! Other bars could take advice from you're management. Thank you and see you soon!

I came to this bar hoping for a relaxing Sunday, but the experience was uncomfortable and disappointing. The service felt strange — I honestly couldn’t tell if the bartender was being passive-aggressive or trying to be funny.
I started with one drink and tipped $2 even though the wait was a bit long. The drink itself was mostly ice and didn’t have the “eyeballs” shown in the menu photo. When I politely asked if they had run out, the bartender suddenly grabbed an eyeball from a box, dropped it into my drink, and said it was the last one. It was awkward, since I wasn’t asking for one — just curious. I also asked, very nicely, if the drinks were typically served with that much ice, and he seemed annoyed by the question.
Later, I ordered another drink, which again had a lot of ice. To my surprise, the bartender took the eyeball from my finished drink and placed it on my new one, saying, “Don’t forget your eyeball.” I was honestly shocked — that felt unsanitary and unprofessional. I only drank the liquid portion of the second drink and avoided the ice on top where he had placed the reused eyeball. When I left, he repeated the same comment, and I told him, “It’s dirty, I’m not taking it.”
Overall, the service was weird, the drinks weren’t as advertised, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable. I regret tipping at all and definitely won’t be returning. I wish I’d read the reviews first — I’ll be taking my business somewhere that feels cleaner and more respectful.

It goes without saying WHY this spot is ALWAYS packed just about any night of the week. From one of the most creative cocktail menus in San Diego, to their delightful fold options, Happy Medium is a perfect middle ground for anyone exploring North Park for the first time or a familiar resident just trying to have a good time.
