Awesome service and wonderful Japanese dishes. The Omurice was pleasant and tangy, the tea was delicious, and the fruit sando was fresh...not to mention the home made milk bread was exceptional.

I had a salad which was perfect except the chicken I ordered with it was excessively salty. Nobody seemed to apologize or even try to make things right. I tried one piece of chicken and it felt like I was eating a salt pack. I tried another in case I just happened to get the saltiest piece, but each of the pieces of chicken were very salty. After I told the waitress, I ordered it next with a side of shrimp. It was kind of disappointing because they give you a few baby shrimp and some of the pieces were also pretty salty, but I didn’t want to call them out on it. My daughter had the curry udon. The taste was great, but because they put the beef on top of it, it was quite oily. The salmon onigiri was fantastic and well worth the price. It was my favorite savory item we ordered.
The best part was dessert. We had strawberry and mango shaved ice. It was enormous and they use fresh fruit. I think they make their own flavored sauces too. It comes with whipped cream which adds a nice touch.
I also tried the 3 mochi sticks. It was not what I expected. I got it to go, and the three skewers of mochi were very puny soggy and wet. They packed the sauces on the side. It was not very appetizing for the price that you pay. You can get better mochi in the Japanese markets.
Overall, I think it’s a really great place to go for a beverage and dessert. The shop is very cute and beautifully decorated. It is like stepping into Japan and savoring the beauty of the cherry blossom season. It’s definitely worth trying as an overall experience.

I pretty much tried everything on the food menu out of the several times I’ve been here and idk how they do it but it gets better and better each time! The one thing I tried the first time I was here and i always now get is the hojicha latte! It ruined all the other hojicha lattes for me. Haha
What’s even more great about this place is that the owners are so sweet and personable with their guests and their staff reflect that sentiment too! ❤️
Definitely a place I will keep coming back to!

Drinks are delicious and not too sweet. Chicken karage is out of this world, moist and crunchy. Omurice is very tasty and has the right amount of sauce, I love the chewy beef bits, but it can get heavy towards the end. Napolitan spaghetti is savory and tangy. Table is quite small which is not the most comfortable to have a bunch dishes and drinks. Definitely will come back!

Quaint little restaurant under some apartments. It's easy to miss when driving or walking by. I went because I wanted to try omurice and I was no[ disappointed. We also had the curry and rice and it was very flavorful. The best part is each entree was only around $20 plus the beer pairing was half off. Also great service too, would go back.

Quaint Japanese restaurant with some nice menu offerings (that aren’t normally seen in San Diego).
The cold hiyashi udon was outstanding. A refreshing and simple dish with beef, green onions, and tempura flakes. The udon was surprisingly soft and light. The dish was brought together by a cold and slightly acidic soup base. So good on a warm day.
The hayashi omurice was a hearty dish with a delicious egg omelet covered with a slightly sweet and rich brown gravy. The omelet was carefully laid over a meaty fried rice. Interesting combination for the taste buds!
The salmon onigiri was a large, warm surprise. Tasty, soft rice filled with minced salmon and wrapped with nori, it was a nice comfort food appetizer / small dish.
The chicken karaage had crisp skin and was nicely cooked. However, the flavors from the other dishes seemed to outshine the chicken.
The side salad had a rich sesame dressing and fresh greens/tomatoes.
The cold, pure matcha drink was balanced - not sweet or overly bitter.
The Japanese shaved ice (kakigori) was excellent. We had half green tea (with red bean and mochi) and half mango flavor with fresh fruit and a two scoops of vanilla ice cream in the center. This dessert was refreshing, light, and so good. Highly recommended as a change up from traditional rich, heavy desserts (which we also enjoy).
Thank you to Sharon and Vivian for their kind service and showcasing the desserts while we sat at the bar 😊

This restaurant was small, but I liked the atmosphere and the sakura-themed decor! (not to mention that the bathroom was also sakura-themed too!) The food was okay though and staff were very nice!
