I’ve been coming here for three years and I just have to say this place is a cornerstone of Mission Hills and adds so much to the neighborhood. There is an aesthetic that is wholly theirs which I like (I especially like the Minor Threat inspired sheep on the side building), they roast their own beans and have a great merch line done by hand selected artists. I personally like their cold brews a lot. Aside from great coffee and knowledgeable baristas, they host other local artists and small business owners to do seasonal markets outside of their coffee shop which is fun and makes for great gift shopping. I have gotten a few things for family this way. Kim, the owner, is a wonderful person and never hesitates to say hi and be helpful. Overall, it’s a lovely place to enjoy coffee outside at one of the greatest neighborhoods of San Diego.

Just a review for the people who love finding espresso that's actually flavorful: this isn't the place. Honestly I'm still looking for a place in San Diego.

Lavender latte was very good, nice flavor! The croissant was very bready, not what I'm used to.

Good coffee. Spotty, inconsistent service. One female barista is great, always friendly and attentive. All the other staff... not so much. My wife and I came by for our morning beverages recently and waited maybe 15 minutes for our coffee. Can get really busy I guess.

Very good coffee! And the service was quick and the server was kind. Will be back the next few days as my trip continues!

Homemade lavender is excellent along with their house roasted coffee.

I was surprised seeing that master roaster DiedRich inside, it is a pretty small spot but they do everything in house which is good for nowadays espresso lovers, just like me when It is a roastery it means they know beans, I tried their latte and it is good, got the nutty cholatety flavor notes. Also it is in the center and corner in the heart of Hillcrest, damn good coffee.

Heartwork Cafe At the time I was living in Mission Hills, so I could walk there. I lived right off goldfinch street and the heartwork cafe had just opened. I loved it from the start. And one of the favorite things I loved was that they sold home made pop-tarts or toaster oven pastries. Those were good! And I loved that they make a strong strong coffee. Very strong. So strong that I can get wired on a third a cup. And they sell packaged coffee beans. And really good lattes. Mmmm. Worth making the trip for.Several years and a pandemic later, I return from time to time, to visit my old neighborhood. The last visit last week, was my first since their remodel. It's all walk-up on the sidewalk now. Which I kind of like better. It was pretty crowded and cozy inside before and I think they got a lot of internet users who overstayed their cuppa Joe.So yes, I am still a fan. I didn't see the toaster pastries though. Even without them, it's still a solid 8 out of 10 for me. Atmosphere could be little nicer. But hey, don't take my word for it. Go and see for yourself.

Found out about this place when I moved to San Diego about two years ago. Super friendly and welcoming staff every time I go, coffee is top notch each time and just an overall great coffee shop to get in and get out, or you can hangout and see some dogs usually. 5/5 no

Quaint little coffee window with some outdoor seating, they've got a great flat white with oatmilk and awesome service as well. I try and stop by any time I'm in mission hills

Was in town for the day from South OC and stopped by this rad little spot. Greeted by the friendliest of staff. I love coffee if all sorts. Was unsure of what I wanted so I let them order for me. My 3rd coffee of the day so I was up for a random vibe. She gave me some iced deliciousness. Can't remember what exactly but it was awesome. Also, the blueberry scone she recommended was the best I've ever had. Absolutely lights out. Only downside is I live too far to experience their delicious coffees and treats on the regular. 10/10 joint.
