I ordered the shepherds pie and onion soup… truly, I have never in my life tasted something so revolting in my entire existence. I was so disappointed, because lots of reviews are positive. I really should have paid attention to how old the bulk of the positive ones were.

Hennessey's Tavern is a great pub - a fun outing. My only reservation is that they allowed smoking in the outdoor eating area, which is a violation of San Diego's ban on smoking in outdoor eating areas.

We hosted our wedding after party here and were thrilled! Hennessey's Tavern were very accommodating throughout the planning process and the servers were fabulous the night of - our guests were very happy sitting around the fire pit, eating good food, and drinking good beer.
My mushroom Swiss burger had canned mushrooms on it. The fries taste like fish because their oil is desperately in need of changing. And the building is run down, dirty and hot. This is a dive restaurant, run!

Taylor served us during our first visit, her service was horrible that night. I had to get up multiple times to ask for water refills at the bar, condiments or even my receipt after we paid and were waiting to leave. She would walk past us multiple times and not acknowledge if everything was ok, outside seating wasn't even busy, it was only 8:45. When she brought our food she was quick to walk away and didn't ask if we needed anything else. Good thing Sabrina and Austin from the bar were super nice and were able to help us with our needs even though the bar was a bit busy. Food and everything else was great, not letting one person ruin this place for us.

Had such a great band there Saturday night. Maternity sings and plays guitar so well and his ensemble was so good with him. Had to dance to a Prince cover. The bar tender took great care of me as well. Loved my Margarita.
