Don’t book a wedding package through this hotel. Terrible first impression. Guests will be downgraded to a room they didn’t book and the staff did not care if you complain. The worst experience. The hotel is being renovated so the elevators are dirty. No bellboy. No restaurant. Even though you’re paying astronomical rates, you still have to deal with all this. Don’t book here.

The Orli is a small luxury hotel within walking distance to beaches and restaurants. It is beautifully designed. Staff is wonderful. Lots of thoughtful amenities and we have never slept as well in any hotel anywhere .. The bedding is out of this world!

I would totally avoid this hotel-- they are doing renovations so the no top floor restaurant or bar. Just a little food they serve on plastic plates and cocktails in plastic cups (no pool, just plastic). The rooms are old and dirty and decrepid-- mold bubbles in the shower drywall, the light switches are so dirty they are stained. Our room smells like cigarettes. Really, I've stayed in nicer youth hostels. And if you want to sleep with the slider open then be prepared to listen to traffic rumbling by all night. All this for $500 a night. and $40 to park in their big parking lot (filled with dumpsters of garbage). How dare they charge what they do and don't even give you a cup of coffee! No thanks. Hard pass.

We did not like the response to an event at the hotel’s swimming pool the morning of our check out. There must have been 30-40 bees in the pool water. After complaining to the front desk after my daughter got stung nothing was done to remove the mostly dead bees from the pool. Apparently the front desk made a request in the computer and nothing was done while we were there for iver an hour. Shame on the hotel for not having a sense of urgency to do anything about it while we tried to enjoy the poo. The hotel front desk seemed abit inexperienced and not equipped to handle issues like the one we encountered.

This hotel is located next to the highway so be prepare not to sleep because even if you receive a room on the top floor the noise is terrible. The Hotel is very dirty, they do not offer cleaning service during your stay unless you booked it at the front desk, no change of towels more than an hotel the service is for 1 star hotel or an hostel. Breakfast: you buy a breakfast service along with the room but then when you arrive in the hotel you discover that because they do not have any buffet they only give you 22 dollars credit and the rest you need to pay. The hotel is very expensive so for what you get is not what you get. This hotel I booked because it was part of Hilton chain but it does not reflect any Hilton standards. Do not go to this hotel if you can avoid it.

Do not let the wine in the lobby distract you from the mold in the rooms. This place is nothing more than a cheap motel with a fresh paint job. The Curio Collection by Hilton is supposed to mean something. I expected there to be standards of professionalism and hospitality and was simply not the case upon arrival here. Came to California for a wedding and extended the trip to see La Jolla. Chose this venue because of reputation. What a mistake. Had to navigate an outdoor catwalk, connected balconies, and stay exposed to the elements just to get to the room. Venue is not as advertised. Hotel was dirty, unsafe, and dicey. Booked the room for three nights through a popular travel website and tried to immediately cancel upon seeing it in person. Tried to cancel the second and third night stay after learning that the hotel would charge us for the first night regardless. The manager, Edelyn, refused to allow any type of cancellation or even modification of any timeline. Then tried to cancel the entire stay (through the travel website) but the manager rejected the request refused it, even denying early departure and instead, spitefully insisted on charging us for all three nights regardless of whether we stayed (contradicting posted policies). The manager then requested (via that website's help line) that we reach out directly to the front desk. In an attempt to have a conversation, we came down to the lobby. She declined. That manager did, however, continue to talk to other staff in the lobby about their upcoming schedules but turned her back to us and promptly fled while other staff continuously identified her as manager. Very concerning that this person refused to take accountability for her decisions, address our concerns, or even just have a face-to-face conversation about the issues. Faced with the decision or risk health and safety or financial loss, we chose the latter and left for a much nicer venue just down the road. How humiliating.

Overpriced for what you get. Lobby is very clean, nice, modern. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant has an excellent view and the restaurant staff were very welcoming. However, the rooms are not well taken care of. You can tell they remodeled them recently but with cheap materials and not done correctly. There was dust everywhere, stains all over the carpets, ceiling, and walls. The carpet was sticking out in certain places. It was a huge bummer for what we were expecting at that price and with those views. I hope hotel owners can see this and make more of an effort to invest your property.

This is like a higher end motel quality. Not a Hilton quality by far. Only good thing was the view. Very beat up motel that seemed run down, depressing and rusty. We had to move as it was not up to standard. I did not sign up to stay at a high motel. The front desk understood my concerns and was kind enough to not charge me since I left after checkin.

The kind-hearted people working at the Cusp restaurant are exceptional. We enjoyed breakfast here every day during our stay in La Jolla. Perfect start to each day. Thank you for making us feel special. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable. You are the best.

Hotel is dated, dirty and claims a 4 star rating when real rating should be a 1 star. Drain broken, hair and filth found in bathroom (not ours) at checkin, privacy screen broken. So disappointed to use valued honors points on our stay.

The hotel is fairly nice, and all rooms face the ocean. It is nothing to write home about, as the location is a little too far from the ocean to make any difference. The staff needs to be begged to make up rooms each day, but apart from that is fairly friendly. Parking is easy and the breakfast restaurant is excellent.

We spent a long week end here and although the location and the view were excellent. The lack of housekeeping service really put a damper on our trip. Imagine coming back to your room after a long day at the beach or SeaWorld to find no clean towels or even toilet paper! This is not a cheap hotel, we were paying around $500 a night, so you do expect excellent service.

After reading some of the complaints I was nervous about staying here, but I’m so GLAD I booked it anyway. This hotel is lovely! I’m going to address some of these “bad” reviews that caused me to have hesitations. First - yes the hotel is older. Get over it. If you want Four Seasons accommodations then go stay there. There is an undeniable charm about this place despite the years. The location is unbeatable. You are a 15 minute walk to downtown La Jolla and a 5-10 minute walk to the beach with cute shops and restaurants along the way. Starbucks is just a hop across the property if you need coffee and it opens at 5:30am. The pool is heated and the area is cozy and relaxed. The rooms are clean and spacious with breathtaking views from the 6th floor and higher. The restaurant is beautiful and the views from up there on the 11th floor are spectacular!! The entire staff was warm and welcoming. For people who experienced unfriendly staff I have to assume you were unfriendly yourself and received the energy you gave out. Housekeeping comes by request so if you want it request it and schedule the time you’d prefer. We had housekeeping every day. The only downsides were one elevator was out for a few hours one day we were there but was repaired the same day. And the pool bar was only open on Friday and Saturday. There is happy hour every day from 2-6. I will be staying here every time I visit La Jolla. Absolutely love this hotel!

The check-in experience was very pleasant and we loved the person working at the desk. She was very helpful in every way possible. It is a very nice hotel in a great location and while it looks a bit dated on the outside, the rooms are lovely and the views are amazing. As a diamond member, we were able to each have breakfast with our credit and the breakfast was very good. The service in the restaurant was excellent. Facilities were awesome. Service was great and we enjoyed the walkability of the hotel.

This would be an amazing hotel if they would fix some basic issues - if you park a car there is a gate in and out that doesn’t work, so you get trapped in and no one will answer the support line - it took me 10 minutes to get out, I called support, I called the front desk and finally I walked to the lobby to get help - it happened every time I came or left - which is unacceptable. One of the elevators was broken so it was a pretty long wait - both guests and employees had to use one elevator. Also they don’t have coffee in the lobby and no coffee before 7am - there is a Starbucks close by but I wish they would have let us know ahead of time. The staff was friendly, the hotel room was clean, we ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was good - but the issues were so frustrating we wouldn’t stay here again.
