I've been meaning to write this since Feb (2 mo ago). I was hungry when I Googled "Pizza near me" and Hillcrust Pizza popped up. Santiago took my order. He recommended a pizza and said it was "really good." LIAR!! It was FANTASTIC?!! Santiago so undersold his recommendation. I've been back 3 times (and bragging to all my friends about the spectacular food), trying something new each time. The Meatball Hilly... so beautiful ! Very difficult to pick one as a favorite pizza because they've ALL been amazing!! Most recent orders for our pizza crowd were Golden Hill, Classic Cheese, Downtown, and The Boulevard (White pizza). A wide variety of choices where everyone felt they were a winner! And for those who routinely leave the pizza crust... to leave a Hillcrust Pizza crust uneaten would be a sin.Sorry no pictures. We DEVOURED the food before we realized we had forgotten to take pictures. The posted pictures ? from the menu do NOT truly capture the experience.Thank you, Santiago! Thank you, Hillcrust Pizza! 10/10. Forgot it was fire roasted chicken so I almost burned my tongue ? it was so worth going here for dinner. ? spent just under $25. Plenty of leftovers for breakfast if you save your leftovers like I do. ? does not disappoint. The wait is not a problem but I can see why some with no time may not like that but this is not fast food. So be prepared to also sit tight (about average - 10min or so while I found street parking and walked back). I promise you it’s worth it. :) This was so worth the quality of the food it just melts in your mouth. I could not finish all of it. Had to take it home. ? ? the atmosphere is so beautiful… plenty of outdoor seating. Indoor is for order placing and order pickup as well as their fire roasted oven and kitchen. It’s so good. ?Parking: Parking ?️ on the street. Plan to walk.

All in all, a lovely pizza experience. The pizza was flavorful, hot, fresh, and authentically Neapolitan-style. I enjoyed this pizza solo, but if you happen to be with company I’d suggest ordering more than one pie, at least then you can try other varieties! Outdoor seating only. Small selection of soda and water in a cooler. Restrooms were very clean! Service was friendly and the pizza was done in ten minutes or so.If you’re not from the San Diego area, a word to the wise on the parking situation in Hillcrest, it’s street parking only…good luck, you’ll see what I mean. Pay your meter, the meter cops check them often.

We got the vegan cheesesteak ($17.99). Gooey cheese and lots of "meat" crumbles. Also the bathroom was unavailable.

The arugula salad is so fresh and delicious! We also split a pizza and enjoyed that. Charming atmosphere outdoors and friendly service to boot! Will be back soon.

My friends and I randomly stumbled into this pizza place and it was definitely worth it! The ambiance was so cute and there seating arrangement was adorable! When we ordered the staff was so nice and very friendly!!! We just got a Margherita pizza with fries and it was so good! they clearly care about quality! Would go again if back in San Diego

I live 3 blocks away and ordered a $24.00, 12" inch "Downton" pizza. I should have opened the box before I got home but when I got to my house and opened the box it was over cooked and burned. I called the owner and he said to come back hand he would swap it for a new pizza. I walked back and the replacement was burnt as well. I am not talking about the edges which would have been okay. I did get a no hesitation refund ( of course you sold me trash) stick to stalwarts like Bronx, Lefty's, Mass Mikes. Here's is my first burnt pie. Btw this is the first pizza I have ever returned in my 49 years of life! Skip this place.

Hands down, the best pizza in San Diego. We eat pizza multiple times a week, and Hillcrest Pizza is the best! I was welcomed by Zia (the owner), the nicest guy, who responded with a few options. Fifteen minutes later, we had the best pizza we've had in a very long time.(The crust was out of this world) It was just perfectly made all around. Our favorite place in San Diego for pizza, for sure. Highly recommend, of course.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant about five times and generally have a good experience, but there is usually one thing slightly wrong every time we order. Today I arrived at the suggested pick up time and the pizza had not even been put in the oven yet. I waited 40 minutes for what ended up being a cold margarita pizza with pepperoni added on top at the end after it had come out of the oven. Sauces missing. It’s sad because the pizza, when done well, is very good!
