Hodad’s!! It's an iconic burger joint in Ocean Beach, but even if it wasn't, the burgers are fantastic! The onion rings are definitely worth the upcharge. And it's a great value, too. You will probably have to wait in line to be seated, but it's worth it. And you can see some really interesting characters on Newport Avenue. Try going during an off time, if you don't want to wait. The food is freshly prepared. 100% recommend!
I've been going to Hodads since I was a kid. Native Sandiegan, moved to Ohio. I was gone for about 6 years. Raved about Hodads to my boyfriend. We moved to Yuma and the first thing I want to do is give him my childhood cheeseburger experience. Took him in and he was in awe of the ambience. The iconic burger joint in OB! Great food and atmosphere, though a little pricey. Yet the fries are bomb and th onion rings are perfect crisp, great portions too. My wife has known them for a long time and I used to hit up when I was skateboarding in town. Always a good grab.
