Excellent take out Hawaiian food, always fresh and made to order. FYI, unfortunately, the portion sizes are SoCal skimpy and not hardy Hawaiian style. :-) The service regarding the accuracy of the order and friendliness is decent, some days are better than others. ?

Oh boy, it's not great. The poke used pretty stringy cuts of the tuna. Chicken was unseasoned. Rice tasted old. The musubi was solid. Very disappointed with our visit.

Last time I went here they served RAW CHICKEN!!!! About 1/3 of the way through my meal I realized that the chicken Katsu was raw. Contacted the restaurant, they offered a “free meal” crazy to think they would offer that after serving raw chicken. I ended up getting my money back. Literally go anywhere else for Hawaiian food. The grills were dirty and looks like they haven’t cleaned their kitchen in over a year.

This place is a tiny hole in the wallWent for Malasadas and they were out. Ordered the Lava Chicken plate lunch and a handshake Lemonade, (out of that too) so got a Hawaiian Sun. Understaffed and waited awhile to get our food. The food was good but nothing to write home about. I'm just disappointed that I couldn't get Malasadas when I had that on the brain. I'd eat here again.

Forgot all of our sauces even though I asked for confirmation that they were in the bag. Got home and we had a bunch of dry chicken and no sauce. Salad was also wilted. Disappointed with our experience and the service.

The food is usually passable when we're craving Hawaiian but today was definitely the last time we'll visit. Rice was mushy, teri chicken was mostly fat and very undercooked. They ran out of lava sauce but didn't say anything until handing us the bag - with katsu. Extra star for the laughably large

I've given this location a chance on several occasions. It's the same unfortunate story every time, poor good food, poor quality staffing. I called a to order a combo, katsu fried chicken and teriyaki beef. I asked for extra sidenof sauces. When I arrived, no sauce was given AND there was NONE on my teriyaki beef. They placed my beef, on top of my fried chicken in the closed "to go" container. Essentially steaming what was supposed to be crispy chicken. There was no soy sauce given or offered and the Hawaiian Mac Salad was bland

Food was amazing! Great portion and full of flavors like I'm on the BIG island! Ambiance could be better especially if you want to dine in. But just take it to go and enjoy your meal by the beach down the street! Service could use some help especially on a busy lunch hour with the phones ringing. They forgot a couple things on my order but they kept it professional and were kind.

My favorite Hawaiian spot in SD. Their deep fried musubi is to die for, so unique and full of flavor! Their Kalua Pork is juicy and so delicious. The chicken is perfectly fried. The lemonade is refreshing and those malasadas are dreamy! Portion sizes have always been massive and the people there are kind and welcoming.

I've been dying to try this place ever since my first visit to La Jolla. However, last time I stopped by, it was halfway through their business hours and they were sold out of a lot of items. This time I was lucky. There's no dining room, only a few barstools and a bar outside. The weather was mild, so we enjoyed our food here.I chose the two item combo. We opted for the Korean chicken and the katsu/lava chicken (same breaded chicken, you're just given a different lava or katsu sauce on the side, depending on your choice). They both tasted good. I appreciate that the person working let us try both the katsu and lava sauce. Super kind of him.

Delicious! There was one guy opening when we went and there wasn't an rice or mac salad ready but he was super nice and gave us fries instead. He doesn't look like much but he took our order and made all the food and all of it was fantastic.
