My roommate heard I was meeting a friend at our favourite Bonchon for lunch and persuaded me to come here instead. When she recommends food, I am never disappointed, and bonus that this is closer to work and home, too! We ordered three flavours to try, and all were fantastic. My favourite was between Saigon and Honey Jam. My friend loved the Sweet and Spicy. The chicken breading was light and crispy, inside hot and juicy, fried to perfection. Loved the cute little menu holders on each table. Welcome to the neighborhood and see you again soon!
Parking: The parking lot can get busy at peak times, but I’ve always been able to find a spot near my destination.

You know how you get wings somewhere, they are all crispy on the outside, but the meat itself is bland and looks undercooked?
Well, this place is not like that. Enjoyed every bite of those wings, very tasty in and out, and thoroughly cooked.
Will be ordering there again for sure.
Update after 2 weeks: ordered here again, same wings. This time just as I described others’ above - bland and looking raw.

I've had Kuljem more then 5 times already (both Dine in and Take out, and I would say it's been very good. The honey jam flavor is my personal favorite. HOWEVER, My only complaint is that they keep raising the prices. 12 pieces of chicken used to be $18 only 3 months ago (just check the google and yelp menu photos and you can see that). Then it was $22 just a few weeks ago, and I just went yesterday and now it's $24. After tax it was about $26. That's more than $2 per piece of chicken. It's getting hard to justify coming back more with the constant price increases, which is truly unfortunate considering how much I do genuinely enjoy the food.

We stopped by here because we were craving Korean chicken but maybe a bit too lazy to go all the way to Convoy. We decided to try Kuljem since it was nearby, and we were in for a treat!
We got the Honeyjam sauces boneless chicken (I know…,but we’re lazy remember) and the kimchi pasta. Both were surprisingly good. The Honeyjam chicken is like a sweet soy butter sauce with a hint of spice and a mega crispy crust. Comes with a side of slaw which is nice, but remember to ask for the pickled radish on the side! Helps cut through the richness. The kimchi pasta was incredibly good, it’s almost like a kimchi carbonara — aged tangy kimchi with bacon in a creamy sauce. We enjoyed our food a lot!
Service was also really great, we had a very attentive server who assuaged our fears about the Honeyjam chicken being too sweet (it’s not).
Finally the atmosphere was the best!!! We are huge kpop fans and eating to aespa was a Next Level experience.

The (boneless) honeyjam chicken is superrrr crispy, fresh and tender when it came out- I was worried the flavor might be overly sweet but I felt it was a really good balance between savory and sweet. The kimchi pasta was bomb too. The k-pop music choice is A+!!

The Kimchi pasta is amazing. I would come back over and over again just for that but the chicken is also the best I’ve ever had in SoCal. Not overly oily and batter is perfect. Great service too!!

Chill music, great service, comfortable seats. I tried the kimchi pasta and it’s amazing with a rich and thick flavor and good portion size. I also want to add that the pasta flavor is a bit unique, kinda between your typical Italian pasta with a Korean spin.
I would say the prices are a bit on the higher end, so that actually makes me want to give it a 4/5. But the flavor has nothing to complain about.
This little plaza has some amazing restaurants.

Great restaurant that currently has the best Korean fried chicken in SD! I’ve been eating Korean fried chicken for years at all the popular spots, but this is my new favorite place! I’d also recommend trying the Kimchi pasta if you’ve never had it before.
