Gracious service, tasty shareable plates, solid bartending Luv the Hoxten Martini) ! What's not to like? Maybe the fact that they won't be in business much longer. Customers need to support our local restauranters who risk their capital & livelihood to bring us great food like this. Go see them before their gone!

Great restaurant. Awesome service and the food was incredible. Different but not trying too hard. We had the Roti (maybe my favorite) the pork belly skewer, brisket noodles and mushroom friend rice. All of it so good! Would have loved a longer cocktail menu but they had great options. Highly recommend.

Incredible as always. We had a blast sharing 6 plates - some of my favorites and some new choices. Service was friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience of eating at Hoxton Manor so much fun.

Arrived weeknight at 6pm and plenty of tables. Our group found our server super helpful (Ricky), all enjoyed our cocktails, and the food was inventive and flavorful. We ordered three starters and three entrees. Dumplings/broth was amazing as was the fried rice. Looking forward to trying other offerings next visit.

The restaurant was cute with dim lighting but it was extremely hot in there. We were sticking to our seats, the A/C needed to be turn down! We had the eggplant dip, which was delicious. The skewers were all good. The Octopus was not great, the potatoes that came with were good but I would not recommend that dish. We had some of their signature cocktails and the were every tart. Overall service was good but food was meh & it was just was too hot in there to enjoy the night.

My 4th trip to Hoxton Manor this evening and like the first 3 visits, every dish was excellent. My husband is a vegetarian so when I go with him we get only vegetarian dishes, and those are my favorites on their menu. But I’ve enjoyed the fish and meat dishes as well—I think this is one of the best restaurants in San Diego, and I’m pretty sure I’ve been to all the best.

I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for years, and it was so worth the wait. The food was exceptional. We tried the chicken skewers, oyster mushroom skewers, prawn fried rice, venison skewers, and grilled octopus. Cocktails were also very nice as well.

First time at this spot for a friend's birthday. I thought the food was very good. Service was good but got slower throughout our visit, perhaps the server had more tables. I'll check it out again soon though.

Wonderful staff, wonderful food and drinks. Local to the area but never made it in prior to yesterday's dinner. The food was phenomenal, especially the ribs. I also really enjoyed the flan for dessert.

I ate here with my partner who is an amazing chef of this particular type of cuisine, and therefore is very particular about restaurants that serve it. We both LOVED our meal and the server was friendly and helpful. Great cocktails too! My treatment was that near of a gladiator most decorated. I'm excited to return and bring my mom here tonight for her first time!

Food, service and ambiance were fantastic! Some of the best food and drinks we've ever had. The roti with eggplant dip, beef cheek dumplings, and brisket with noodles were so flavorful and delicious. Excellent gin selection. Loved it all and will be back again!

18% service charge PLUS 20% tip!?Look... Food was *great*, seriously. The brisket noodles were divine and the cocktails were tasty. The service... was just OK. A bit slow, but they were nice. They forgot one of my drinks - I can overlook that.. What really grinds my gears is the 18% service charge they tack on. The fee is "applied to your check and goes directly towards higher wages for all of our staff" as mentioned at the bottom of the menu. At the beginning of the meal, we took that to mean it was a mandatory tip. Well, we were going to pay 20% anyway so that's fine. However, once the server handed us our check, they made it a point to mention that the servers do not receive ANY of the 18% and it only goes to the "guys in the back". So the only way for me as a guest to adequately compensate our server was to pay an additional 20% on top of the 18% service fee. Our server further went on to explain that "a lot of people are upset about that and maybe you should make a review so that our owners understand that people are upset about it." So here I am. Voicing my opinion that if Hoxton Manor can't pay their employees fairly without bilking customers, maybe they just shouldn't be in business. I would be happy to return at a later time if they resolve this issue. Until then, we won't be returning. I expect the owners to gaslight my comments and attempt to justify the extra charges as I've seen them reply to other comments about the fee. (From the owner on Opentable: a share does NOT go 'straight to the owners' in any way, shape or form. Nor is it 'collected by the chefs'. As stated, it goes to all of our staff, but predominantly our servers and bartenders. How you can possibly claim to know to the contrary is baffling.") So I guess add "rude" to the list. Look, if multiple people are being told that your extra fees DON'T go to the servers, then maybe you have a bigger problem on your hands. Figure it out.

Amazing food! The rabbit dish was inspired (picked kumquats!?!), and the beef cheek ravioli was a party in your mouth. However, the service was bad: we waited 10 minutes to be checked in when I had a reservation, and they ignored a birthday request that was on my reservation. Also, the +18% note that some resturants are putting on their menus is deceitful you should increase the prices if you can't pay a living wage if you also put a tip line on your receipt. I hope your service experience is different, I do recommend trying once, but I don't think I'll be back.

The food was decent (not great). The server was decent (not great). The atmosphere is nice (feels like a low-key New York kind of place). When the bill came there was an 18% service charge. When I asked the server about it he said it was on the menu (it was not) and that it was a COVID charge. It's 2023 and COVID has been over for a while. Not going back!
