A nice little asian cafe in the heart of the San Diego zoo.
Food here is not exceptional but decent enough to keep you satiated through the day. We tried the chilli tofu rice and it was good. The egg rolls were a disappointment. The quantity was sufficient enough for a single person.
It’s a self-serve place. Nothing to talk about the ambience except that it has plenty outdoor seating.

Sorry to say but reaalllyy bad food. You can see most of my reviews are 5 stars. I am not a picky eater and generally find that most things are tasty. The teriyaki chicken and (canned green beans??) were pretty gross. Like I actually took one bite and wanted to return it but at that point it tasted so bad I wouldn’t want to eat anything they made and would just want my money back. Decided to just eat the chicken and a few bites of the rice. The “vegetables” literally looked and tasted like canned green beans with a few mushy broccoli thrown in. Who adds canned green beans to chicken teriyaki?? I felt sick after eating. The worst zoo food I have eaten. I know lots of the zoo food rated pretty poorly. But I actually have rated most the other places 4 or 5 stars. This place is like a 1 star which is saying how bad it was for me. See pics. For $18 just not acceptable.

Cannot express how terrible.
It's theme park food. What do you expect. I was just grateful to be eating organic tofu with sweet chili sauce on a bed steaming hot rice at the Zoo. To me, that is a stand-out offering. Lots of shaded seating even on a busy weekend. There was no white meat chicken for my kids and no options for just plain vegetables. Again it was a wonderful surprise to be able to eat organic tofu instead of pizza, burgers, fries, frozen chicken strips. They had compostable paper plates/bowls and aluminum fountain drink cups rather than plastic! That's another star. Kids menu - very good price and it came with a reusable souvenir bag, mini souvenir cup with straw, and whole wheat animal crackers. Portion was huge, adult sized.

I should have read the reviews before coming here. I didn’t have high expectations but the food was almost inedible. The edamame was actually good and a pretty good value. The orange chicken was WAY over-cooked, and the rice was mushy. The teriyaki chicken wasn’t over-cooked but it’s texture and flavor made it seem like it came out of a microwave bag. We ended up throwing away both chicken dishes after a few bites.

Okay this place was shockingly good. They served large portions. The food was very appealing, looks, and flavorful. The price was very affordable and reasonable l.

Very few substantial vegan options. So disappointed to see that a zoo focused on conservation wouldn't have more vegan options. The black bean burger isn't vegan because the bun is a brioche bun. So that only leaves fries, edamame, and unseasoned rice. Please do better for our environment.
My wife and I ate lunch at this restaurant inside of the San Diego Zoo. I had a tofu and rice dish and my wife had sesame chicken -- both with large servings.

I didn’t come for the food, but I wanted to eat. It was good, not great. The fries were bomb however!

Some of the BEST orange chicken I’ve ever had… some of the worst teriyaki chicken I’ve ever tasted.. ehh. I’m considering going back to the zoo just to have their orange chicken again.
Kid-friendliness: Kid food options, high chairs, and lots of space for kids to run around

Some of the BEST orange chicken I’ve ever had… some of the worst teriyaki chicken I’ve ever tasted.. ehh. I was impressed by the portions. I really thought I received more food than what I paid for, others seem to disagree. I’m considering going back to the zoo just to have their orange chicken again.
Beggars can't be choosers. Too little restaurants around, and food is overpriced. The staff is good, but it's really just the food portions its price, and lack of options.

Orange chicken was too dry. Burger was basic.
