I really wanted to like this place, but overall it was a bit disappointing. I came mainly for their extensive vegan and vegetarian menu. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and they even recommended their most popular vegan burrito when I asked. Unfortunately, the burrito was underwhelming and just didn’t taste good. I’m not sure if it was my choice or just an off day, but it missed the mark for me. It would have been helpful if the menu clearly highlighted popular items.
I also ordered the tamarindo margarita, while it was strong, the flavor was below average. That said, the ambiance was lovely, colorful, aesthetic, and inviting, with cute outdoor tables that added to the overall vibe.

Table was not cleaned or set up, Service exceptionally slow— though friendly. Chips were stale. Shrimp on my tostado were waaay overcooked and rubbery. Food was just ok. Wine was terrible.

Amazing vegan options, such delicious food, cant wait to go back
It took a while to get our water. The tacos had so much lettuce it took away from the flavor of the vegan carne asada. The carne asada was forgettable. Ranchos Cocina is way better.
We had a delicious dinner and had so many options to choose from. They were also very happy to work with dietary restrictions, change the menu around, and offer suggestions for gluten free/gain free options. The server even mentioned that they’d be happy to serve breakfast items during dinner hours. I had the enchilada combination plate, and had one soy chorizo enchilada and one with nopales. Both were great! Also, went back the next morning for breakfast and had the tofu rancheros. Also delicious! The breakfast vegan menu is also extensive- I wish I could try more of their offerings! Love this place! It's great because if you're vegan, it's a place you can bring your non-vegan friends to. So... we always bring our friends and family here when they visit. The service is great, it's dog friendly (outside patio), and everyone is so nice. We've been coming here for over 7 years and love everything about it.

This place used to be my go-to. Over the past couple of years I’ve seen their prices increase as quality of service and food decrease. Today was the final. They put dairy on my food. I’ve been vegan for about 20 years and know when it’s real. They argued with me about whether it was vegan and then said something about how they are inspected by the city and therefore cannot use non vegan items. Um… the health department doesn’t care about veganism. Also, they are not 100% vegan so they absolutely can (and do) sell dairy items.

I was so happy with the vegan options here. I'm used to going to eat at a Mexican food restaurant and having only bean options. I had a fish taco and Apollo asada taco and they were both delicious. Margarita was great too. Updated from previous review on 2025-11-05

Food was good and when we went, there was plenty of seating since it was slow. I give it 3 stars because they don't offer any pork on their menu. Can you be Mexican and not have carnitas? When asked, they said it's a food safety thing because they offer an extensive vegan and vegetarian menu and cannot cross contaminate with meat and would be required to have a separate grill. They cited food safety regulations, but I looked it up, and it doesn't seem to be a thing for normal restaurants. But, if you keep kosher, it's good to know. Also, they serve other meats, which I'm sure they share a grill, so there's that is you are strict vegan. Food was good. Service was good. Cocktails were okay. Kid friendly for sure. I would give it 4 stars if it wasn't for the carnitas thing.
