Their Snow Skin Lotus Paste Mooncake is the most terrible and worst experience that we've ever had. My friends told me how bad and chemically it tasted and super thick skin.....so my family just tried it...It was full of plastic and chemical smell and when we cut it opened we were stunned to see the skin was super thick, most area was more than half cm. thick and the skin tasted like plastic and bad chemical, its texture was so bad too, like playdoh. There was not any lotus paste inside of the mooncake, instead it was just a bit of fake banana smell stuff, and left bitter after taste in our mouths.

I told my friend where to get the real and normal tasted Snow Skin Mooncake....

I wish I can give negative stars

I tried their moon cake #26 which is the mung beans filling. Very good. I’d yet to try the #10 later. People are nice and they help me pick.

I worked with Kim at Huy Ky Bakery and it was a wonderful and delightful experience! I knew I wanted an Asian cake that wasn’t too sweet or processed. Kim gladly accommodated all of my needs and requirements, even peanut allergies, and we had a delicious strawberry taro sponge cake. She was super responsive and kind throughout all of our communications. Our guests absolutely loved it and it was a hit! Truly a hidden gem in San Diego area — I’ll update once I get official photos from my vendors back but for now here is the photo I got of us cutting the cake from our guests!

A cute bakery with a dedicated parking lot. The lady was so sweet and the durian cake was subtle and good. The coconut cake is also delicious if durian is not your thing. Called in my order and it was ready for pickup in a few hours. Can't stress enough how sweet the service was. Feels very mom and pop.

I bought this vegetarian item to a buddhist temple to share with the nuns. When we cut into it, Lo and behold there was pork belly meat in the center! How embarrassing! There are similar reviews about this, their quality control is quite disappointing.

I love hopia but because of the bad ingredients. Such as lard, sugar and eggs, I threw away what I bought in oriental store.

I live in Houston and bought this to cúng Quan Am and didn't know there was meat in the center! The ingredients didn't even mention about the meat. I am disappointed.

Absolutely amazing service and cakes! My wife and I were celebrating our first child’s baby shower and the bakery we initially ordered from had cancelled us the morning of the baby shower with almost no notice. I turned to Huy Ky Bakery for a cake with an extremely short turnaround, and they more than accommodated. I was able to order a fruit-topped, two-tier cake with multi-color blended icing. The turnaround was 2 hours, but they finished making the cake in even less time than that. The cake was very light and they used real fruit and even fresh taro for their fillings. Our family and friends absolutely loved the cake. I would definitely recommend Huy Ky Bakery for cakes for any type of event, they really saved us on our special day. Short notice or not, they’ll definitely be able to provide.

The coconut cake was so good! With fresh coconut shavings inside! The cake was moist and the frosting wasn't overly sweet! The employee was nice letting us know what kind of breads they had. Wished they had more available but definitely ordere a cake from here!

The birthday cake tasted phenomenal , you have a variety of real fruit-flavor combinations to choose from, it’s a “Japanese sponge cake” & customer service was amazing. Check them out if you want something delicious ? ???

This is the retail shop of a very sizable Chinese bakery, which manufactures in the back of the store front. Huy Ky has been in business since 1986 and you'll find Huy Ky's baked goods in many Asian supermarkets, from California all the say to Texas. The store front has fewer items than normal during the pandemic. They are a subset of the same items from their wholesale business plus some cake slices and Chinese turnovers. These items are fresher than what you can find from supermarket shelves (obviously) and taste better.
