Í cannot begin to Express how profoundly sad Í am this place has had to close down. We have been coming here since 1992 and this has been our favorite Japanese restaurant in Southern California! We would drive down from Orange just have their wonderful food. Please please try and open up another place....with your same recipes. Maybe even in Orange

I can't believe this place is closed for good. I cried when I found out. This is me and my boyfriends favorite place to eat here in San Diego. Their food is so delicious. I was helping them by dining in and ordering from them every week. I was crossing my fingers they wouldn't close. I am so so so disappointed and sad. Screw covid!!! This is just so sad. Thank you ichiros and for your delicious food. Im so sorry you had to shut down. You will forever be missed.

PERMANENTLY CLOSED. This has been our go to authentic Japanese restaurant for almost 30 years. We were sad to see that they have permanently closed. We wish them the best and gratitude for the great meals and memories we've spent in their restaurant.

This place gives extraordinary service and delicious menu. One of my favourite places around here. The drinks and food served quick and the rates were economical. Will definitely recommend this spot.

Very good food for a casual Japanese lunch or dinner. The unadon (eel rice bowl) really hits the spot and their tempura shrimp udon bowl is really good too. The service is very good even late close to closing time.I recommend the sweeter sake if you get a saucy appetizer like the takoyaki. The atmosphere is comfortable and the decor is nostalgic and nice to look at.

Amazing food and great service!!!! They are doing an incredible job with social distancing and even have a small bench for people to wait while for their order picks

Tl;dr really good food for the price. Satisfies the cravings. Pretty fresh. Great service. E X P E R I E N C E Pre-covid, we used to come here for dine in and service was always great, polite and quick. Called ahead of time to order take out, on a Sat night around 5pm. When arrived, food was ready. Nothing missing. Employees are quick, v polite. It looks like dine in is available but there is only one family there. P A R K I N G It's a b*tch. It's always packed here in convoy. Drive the smallest/sh*ttiest car you own lol we see accidents in this parking lot all the time. F O O D 2 alaskan rolls 1 champon 2 udon, tempura 1 caterpiller roll 1 crunchy roll 1 rainbow roll For the price, fantastic food, pretty fresh, obviously not the freshest you'll ever have. Rolls are a decent size. Noodles are perfectly cooked, great flavor. P R I C E rolls average about $9 here. What you get is v worth the price. It's a good deal. Good enough to satisfy the craving. Def not a high end restaurant imo

I thoroughly enjoyed the Ichiro's here. It hit the spot! The noodles were a great quality with the perfect level of crunch. The broth was just a little bit salty but I loved the flavor. I had two toddlers with me and they loved it. They loved the food. The service was excellent also. Highly recommend this place.

I celebrated my graduation last night in this gorgeous place. I am glad to say that we had a awesome evening and the place was absolutely one of the reasons for that outstanding evening. The stuff collaborated in a sweet manner, the cuisine was yummy and my friends were extremely pleased. We shall absolutely come back again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

Overcharge & lie. We ordered 90 dishes to give to day time and night time health care workers as meals over 3 days and 6 meals. We did the pick up and delivery ourselves. I later noticed there was a "custom" amount of 15%. I asked what it was. They said for large orders they charge this. I noted we did not dine in and did the delivery ourselves, and have never seen this when ordering large orders from other restaurants. They then tried to charge 50 cents per box saying there is a to go box charge. I mentioned I was not charged that when I ordered 3 lunches. I don't appreciate this bait and switch and asked to speak to the owner and/or manager. They said unavailable. We were trying to support a local business while giving to Healthcare workers but this place really left a bad taste in our mouth. They will also try to nickel and dime you on chopsticks and forks. I had requested both and they kept trying to only give one or another. Please don't support this business which instead of appreciating a large order, tries to take advantage and charge extra.

Ichiro has always been one of my favorite spots for a simple yet tasty Japanese meal in San Diego. I was worried about how they would survive during Covid, but they have been able to adjust by adding outdoor seating and offering takeout. The prices have gone up during the pandemic, but it's a small price to pay to keep such an honest restaurant in business. I highly recommend the bento box with the salmon.

First time here. So far the Lady Server is very polite, despite they are quite busy, due to the limited sittings. They have two tents outside the restaurant that's where we got sitting. The food is very delicious. Appetizers is a platoria of choises. Seams to me even the most fastidious will find something in the appetizer and regular menue. We ordered: Diversity of foods. You can see the food on the picture gallery. One word will summarized the test of Japan: DELISIOUS. You must come and try it , you won't be dissupointed. Thats all for now. Have a Merry Christmas my Friends.

Came here on a Friday night when everything else was SUPER packed. To our pleasant surprise our experience was more than satisfactory. 10 out of 10 would come again.
