Personally, I expected much more from these burgers 🍔 I'd heard wonders about them, but in my very personal opinion... they are super X, I'm not saying they are bad, but they have nothing that makes them better than any chain burger, their fries are bad, what I can rescue would be their Pink lemonade, but I reiterate it's my opinion and my taste, but there I realize that many people really love them...

In-N-Out Burger Pacific Beach – Great Food, But Overcrowded and Chaotic

This In-N-Out location is the closest one to La Jolla, conveniently situated near the I-5 highway exit in Pacific Beach. However, the triangle-shaped lot is far too small to handle the overwhelming demand. The drive-thru line extends onto the road, and at Sunday dinner time, the wait can easily exceed 50 minutes just to place and receive an order. A staff member is present to help direct traffic, but the congestion remains frustrating.

The parking situation is a mess—limited spots are available, and several spaces technically belong to the neighboring car wash and body shop. Inside, the dining space is cramped and crowded, making it difficult to find a table. After ordering, I had 20 orders ahead of me, adding to the long wait.

Another downside is the lack of cleanliness. The floors were noticeably dirty, and it seemed like cleaning wasn’t being done frequently enough, given the heavy foot traffic. Tables also weren’t wiped down quickly, adding to the chaotic atmosphere.

Despite the chaotic setup, the food remains classic In-N-Out quality. I ordered the Double-Single, and the crispy toasted bun, fresh veggies, and juicy beef patties did not disappoint. The fries can be customized (definitely try them Animal Style), and their Lite Lemonade is a must-try, offering a refreshing taste with natural sweetener.

There are some outdoor dining spots available, making it dog-friendly, but seating is very limited. If you're planning to visit, avoid peak hours unless you're prepared for long waits and parking hassles.

Parking: Limited parking space. Some parking spaces belong to the neighbor car wash and body shop. Pay attention to it!

I had a shorter drive through line by volume (compared to other in and outs in a short radius) during non-peak hours and it took 80 minutes to receive food. 2nd time it’s taken absurdly long here. Will never return to this location. Genuinely faster to drive to the next closest location.

This place is obviously not heard towards seniors. It's probably a good vibe for teens and young adults.

We were there on a Friday evening at prime time. Had to wait in a queue in the narrow parking lot for a stall.

The place was small and packed. It was out first (and will be out only) visit to this chain. Extremely limited menu 3 items!. The food was good but pricy.

It's fast (sic) food but it was so busy it took quite a while to get out order.

It was quite loud and seating was right and uncomfortable.

Vegetarian options: Only 3 things on menu, all burgers and fries

Parking: Very tight parking in small lot. Hard to get a space

Kid-friendliness: Not very as it's right. Congested and noisy. Plus NO kids item on menu.

This is absolutely my favorite burger in the whole state, the food i was served was great as always. However the service was unusual to In-N-Out’s standards. I only had 9 cars ahead of me and had to wait 35 min since the moment i ordered till i got the food. And the person handing me the food had attitude and rolled her eyes when i asked for salt which I found funny not big of a deal but unexpected for sure. Again the food was flawless.

California people love In-N-Out. We came this location for lunch. It was packed inside and at their parking lot. We were lucky to find a table. But tables were not clean and there was only one guy to do the cleaning. Burgers tasted great as usual with free banana peppers. But fries and milkshake were mediocre.

Parking: Could be limited during lunch time
