This is our third time visiting insideOUT and we love this spot. Decor is Spring beautiful, drinks and the food are delicious. Service is excellent. They are quick to fill your water, take your order and bring your food out. Definitely one of our top restaurants in San Diego.

What a delightful venue to celebrate my 70th! Loved the menu, our waiter, the music, and the decor was out of a fairytale! We will be back again to experience it all!

We booked this place for my early birthday brunch since I've been wanting to try this place out for their spring oasis however there wasn't much of a special experience for my birthday. The food was ok and the service was alright as well. I wouldn't come back here for any special celebrations.

Absolutely gorgeous brunch spot! Drinks and food were delicious, and the service was awesome. I loved the decor so much, it was a beautiful oasis. I will be going back!

Very noisy, makes conversation difficult. Sea Bass was excellent. Wife loved her salad. Beignets for dessert, yum. Great service. The glass behind the urinals is NOT one way. People walking by wave at you while you're there.

This place is amazing. Beautiful and someplace you can relax and have a great time. Our server, Tommy, was wonderful. He recommended drinks that were perfect for us. My husband and I totally loved this place.

Opentable Diner

Food was average. Staff was nice. Sound was a bit too noisy. Had to shout so people in my party could hear me.

This place is really cute! I enjoyed the aesthetic and the staff was friendly. Beware the food is basic. Small portions and lacking flavor. Not worth it for the price.

My first time at insideOUT restaurant. Reservations were at 5:15pm, on a Friday afternoon.
Limited menu, as an appetizer I ordered the truffle brussel sprouts, good flavor.
I had the oven roasted chicken. Taste was very good. However any side dishes are a la carte. My main entree could have been more centralized on the plate đŸœ, by not being centralized it left a tremendous void on the plate as if something were missing.đŸ€”
For dessert, Italian breakfast; Double espresso and mini donuts filled with nutella and pastry cream. Delicious 😋
To drink I had several bubbly đŸŸ drinks with a splash of prickly pear juice... "prick my cactus" đŸŒ”đŸ
Something extremely unique, the restrooms đŸš» are coed... and somewhat open to the imagination especially if you're on the outside looking in.
The atmosphere and Decor are outstanding. Our two waiters Nathan & Alejandro were very nice.
Only issue there is a 2-hour limit sitting at your dinner table, after that you'll have to go and sit elsewhere (if you can find sitting) if you wish to continue enjoying your drinks đŸžđŸ„‚đŸ·

I was visiting my friend for the first time in San Diego all the way from Canada and this is apparently one of the most popular places in town and I can understand why. Super cute decor that changes seasonally so right now everything is pink and cherry blossoms. I love that if there is a wait for a table you can sit on a bench in the courtyard and order a drink while taking in the view. They have heaters out there and blankets if you get cold.

Reservations are likely recommended but we were only two people so we showed up and waited maybe only 15-20 mins before a spot at the bar opened up.

Great service all around, the one minor complaint is that the octopus was a bit disappointing as it was super chewy so likely overcooked and no one asked us how our appetizer was so we didn’t get the opportunity to mention it. The lamb and truffle Brussels spouts were so good. Cocktails are unique and boozy.

Can’t wait to come back again!

The restaurant is very nice inside. I love the aesthetic. There are areas inside where you can take pictures. I would say this is a nice date night spot. I saw this place on instagram and decided to come. I highly recommend ordering the Freaky Tiki drink. I ordered the salmon and didn’t really care for it. It wasn’t hot. Other than that, the service was fine. Servers were friendly

The food is just as good as at “In and Out”, but way expensive and nothing really special. We came only for the decoration, but it was down. I couldn’t reserve the table for Valentin’s Day to surprise my spouse and sure he was surprise that this restaurant had nothing special to offer:((
Unfortunately We won’t come back for food for sure.

A local gem!!!

This is the definition of a local gem!!! From a touristy point of view, this restaurant is off the beaten path, with not much to do or explore nearby, and hard to come across even if driving around San Diego; what’s more, from the outside you wouldn’t believe how nicely set this place is, we even drove past it a couple of times before realizing we were right at the spot.

As already said, INSIDEOUT is nicely set, it mostly consists of a terraced patio nestled within an apartment complex, which probably doesn’t sound appealing or convincing enough, but the place manages to provide an extraordinary, chilled-out atmosphere. Regarding accessibility, I’m not quite sure if all the terraces/levels are doable on wheelchair, so better book in advance and let the restaurant know your needs beforehand.

Service is friendly, expedite, polite and laid-back, they seemed to treat everyone like regulars, though probably most patrons present were actually regulars.

Regarding food, the menu is not extensive but assorted, with at least one option –if not two, for beef, pork, and fish. As appetizer we had the charcuterie board, which I must sadly report felt far from prime quality, and the cheeses a bit over refrigerated in detriment of flavor. For entrees we had the fideua de marisco –nicely presented, sizzling hot, and delicious; and the short rib – perfect doneness. Cocktails were tasty and refreshing –Ruby’s Nectar and Empress 75; and the beer selection could do way better, after all this is San Diego!!! The brightest side of the story is that INSIDEOUT is reasonably priced, so you can have a fulfilling night out for less than $100 per person.

I definitely would recommend trying this place, but if you’re a tourist, bear in mind it will cost you time and money just reaching the restaurant, and as I said before, there’s not much to do around, specially once the sun sets.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure if all levels are wheelchair accessible, so better let the restaurant know about your needs in advance...
