Went here while on vacation and was presently surprised! The food was absolutely amazing. The prices and the portions were great as well. My only issue was how long it took for us to get our food. However l, once we got it, we didn't complain at all!!

The food overall is quite good. Great seasoning and portions are adult sized. Plus plus! But They’ve got to be holding back on the ‘real’ jerk in the jerk chicken bc I have had authentic jerk many times before. The TWO inconsistencies and my biggest pet peeves would be that the plantain is dry, hard, and not juicy at all. I always leave it for trash. (See photo) And each time I have been, the gravy on the rice is never consistently the same amount. I’d refer, but not with crazy excitement bc of often inconsistencies.Parking available depends on the time of day and day of week you go. It varies.Parking: Limit is based on what day and time of day you come.

Very good food and phenomenal service.The portions alone is enough to make sure you come back !!! The wife and I were extremely happy with the Jerk Chicken and Ox Tail combination plate (rice and peas, plantains and veggies). Rice and peas were spot on, veggies crisp, plantains sweet, jerk Chicken was ok (needed a bit more flavor), Ox Tails were the highlight of the meal.....talk about flavor man this took us back to Kingston !!!The chicken patty was a tad bit dry (it was in the warmer to long).The assortment of island beverages was great.The gentleman working the register was very patient and helpful.

Does anyone know if the cook changed? I have been going to Island Spice for over a decade even when it was over there off Market street. Lately when I go the sauce and the food itself just doesn't taste authentic any longer. The last time I went we got oxtail and rice and peas.The gravy on the oxtail was more Brown and tasted like a regular gravy from a packet. I don't think I'll be going back.
Food is good, meat is tender, portion is good as well, but for health sake please reduce salt in the stews.

Top authentic Jerk chicken with phenomenal service! Ordered the Jerk chicken (35 people package) for an office Thanksgiving potluck and the knocked it out the park!They’re prepared everything fresh and hot by 10:30 am according to my request. They even put the sauce (spicy hot) on the side even though I forgot to ask; they just know their customers.Food is also priced well for top quality. I wish I had remembered to take photos before we started eating. Everyone loved it!Highly, highly recommended.
