I absolutely love this place. I have been going here since I was a teenager and now love coming with my two little boys (my dates). We sit outside and watch the cool surf videos on TV and enjoy the laid back atmosphere and incredible food. This has truly become our go to when we want to get out of the house and enjoy a great meal, some fresh air, and lovely staff.

I wonder why the two Islands near Clairemont shut down? Same menus, same good service. My wife and I happed to be in the Carmel Mountain area and didn’t want to fight the 6 pm rush hour traffic home. So we opted to stop at the local Islands. She ordered the Shore Bird. I asked our server if they still served the protein platter. She said yes. This is our go to Islands. It's always cold, beer is always cold and the service is always on point. Rarely ever have to wait to be seated. Islands fries are still legendary and the burgers are fine in a highly competitive burger city. Great bar to hang out at if you just need to escape the heat and have a conversation. Recommended, we go here more often than the other offerings in this shopping center, too, that includes a chick fila and an in n out right near here.
