First time at Joe's Crab Shack. The food was good and the servers were great and attentive.
We went for Father's Day, reservations at 11. We were seated immediately and our server and service were fantastic. The food (Joe's Classic Sampler appetizer, Broiled Seafood Platter, Captains Plate, and Not Joe Mama's Chicken) were soooo good, but sooo much food that we all took at least half of our main courses home. We also had the apple crumble for dessert (which is why we took half of our food home because we wanted to leave room for dessert!). It was the BEST apple crumble we've ever had. And can't beat the view...right on the water. Highly, highly recommend Joe's Crab Shack!
A wonderful time was had 🥰😘👍🏾
Melanie was an absolute rockstar behind the bar! She was on time, super attentive, and gave me exactly what I needed without missing a beat. On top of that, she had a great sense of humor and kept the vibe fun the entire time. It’s always a good day when you have a bartender like Melanie—professional, quick, and genuinely entertaining. Highly recommend!
Shoutout to Laura from Ireland (now at Joe's Crab Shack) this woman really made the experience special for my 2 kids and wife thank you Laura
Food was amazing, I highly recommend
Food was good. Service was horrid. We were there before it got busy and had to find someone to place an order...and when someone came to the table, they would get a drink order for one or two and walk away ignoring the others.
Nastiest place I have ever eaten! Was there for a work team dinner and everything was disgusting!! How is this place even open???????? The shrimp made me sick with stomach issues for DAYS!!
Had a great meal. The server was awesome! Delicious
The crab was bendy. Snow crab was so flexible you could bend it in half without breaking it.

Melany behind the bar is the absolute best! We had a wonderful time!
While the waitress was kind, I repeatedly had to get up for things like silverware, to go boxes, etc. and the place was empty. Beyond that, the food was awful. I ordered the Atlantic, and what used to be a steampot was delivered in a bag and dumped onto a plate. Cold and dry. I used to love dining at Joe's, but now I understand why the place was empty on a Friday evening. There are much better places to dine in San Diego for what you pay for at the restaurant.
Excellent service great experience!
This is a great casual place on the water. We had a great waiter named carlos. The bartender prepared my martini with super fine sugar around the edge and it was outstanding.I went over to let her know. Also spoke to the manager about what a nice experience. We have, this is a great little restauran. I had the fisherman's platter with crab and shrimp and white fish and chowder was delicious. The prices are very reasonable.
Had a reservation on Mother's Day and we had tickets for a show at Rady's Shell. Ordered water no lemon and a broiled seafood platter and a Shrimp Sampler. The water came with lemon in it. The food finally came and it was cold. The broccoli was not all the way steamed. It was close to raw. After a wait of 5 minutes after receiving our food, I finally decided to find some sliced lemon for the shrimp. Went to the kitchen area and asked for sliced lemon for the food and told the person that we had not seen our server since we ordered our food. He brought over the lemon and sent over the manager. The manager said that our server had a large party in the bar area. I told him my food was cold and my son told him that his broccoli was raw. He said that he would bring my son more broccoli. The server showed up and I told her my food was cold and I had her touch the shrimp. She took the whole seafood sampler back and the manager came over and said that he would comp the food and bring me another one, but hot this time. He brought more broccoli for my son, which was still not cooked. I rec'd the hot food but, the broccoli was still super al dente and everything was overly salty this time. The manager wanted to bring more broccoli, but I declined. The crab mix stuffed crab shell is mostly a stuffing and barely any crab. It's like a bread ball in a crab shell. Not that I wanted it, but I was not given one of the bibs that were given to the mothers on Mother's Day. We have a reservation for August for my son's birthday, but we are having second thoughts. Not sure if we will be back.
