We came here right at 4:30p on a Saturday night to see if we could get a table. We had no expectations but drove a long way. We were told it was a 20min wait for our table so we waited outside in our car with our 5 year old to wait for the follow up text that our table was ready. After 40min, we went back up and were told that it would be a while longer as reservations had showed up. If that was the case then why did you tell us 20min in the first place? Be honest with us from the get go so we can adjust accordingly. We received a text TWO hours later that our table was ready. Frustrating, just be honest with your clientele.

Sushi quality was mid. The toro was the worst I’ve ever tried. Tasted a bit off to be honest. Very expensive for what you get. Crab salad has a gritty texture. Will not be going back.

Absolutely incredible! We have dined in with Chef Nghi and have ordered their Epic board for take out and every time it has been nothing short of incredible. We’ve tried just about all the high-end sushi spots in San Diego and we’re always left impressed by chef Nghi! Not only is their fish so fresh and their rolls fun and creative but the service is top notch! I highly recommend Ju-ichi!

This is coming from someone who is NOT super sushi adventurous. Very delicious food, enjoyed the basic options I had of Cali roll and Chicken Karaage. However, my wife had an exquisite order of many different dishes and said she loved every last bite, I tried many of the things she ordered and yes they were definitely way above my expectations.
Super recommend if you need a sushi stop.

I had the pleasure of celebrating a friend’s birthday here, and we reserved the Omakase bar for a private experience. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. Each dish, from the tapas to the sashimi, was crafted with incredible care and flavor. The service was warm, attentive, and truly elevated the evening. This spot is an absolute gem—I can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely be coming back!

Second time visiting this hidden gem and just as fun as ever! Sat at the bar and enjoyed the banter with both Chef Nghi and his staff. He recommended several excellent sake pairings for our sushi. Love the small personal atmosphere, highly recommend for both newbies and seasoned sushi lovers!
I loved their selection of special fish that they had, that usually cannot be found everywhere else. The handroll, nigiris had amazing texture and flavors to them. Definitely will be back every time I’m in San Diego.
I would love to try Chef’s Omakase next time!

I would give this a 5 star but I went today and they are closed 😢. Not sure what happened and no clue when they will reopen. The chef was amazing especially with the omakase. Staff was also very cool creating a friendly welcoming vibe.

The food… **WOW!** Every bite was a delight. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The fish melted in my mouth, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the creative rolls were a delicious surprise. Don’t miss the chef’s specials—they’re worth every penny!
