The most amazing açaí bowl in San Diego!! Everything is homemade and incredible. The owner is so nice and accommodating.

Yes, there’s a wait but it’s made very clear before you order. If you’re not up for waiting, don’t order. But honestly these are the best açaí/pitaya bowls in SD, packed with fresh fruit every time! I always bring friends here when they visit. Pro tip: take a nice walk around the bay while you wait!

We absolutely loved our visit to Juice Wave! The açaí was fresh, flavorful, and so delicious — my three kids devoured theirs and are already asking when we can go back. A big part of what made the experience so special was the owner, Arleigh. She was so personable, kind, and genuinely helpful, making us feel right at home. You can tell she cares about both the food and the people. Highly recommend!

I’ve tried a lot of acai bowls in San Diego and this one is my favorite by far. The portion sizes, the fresh fruit, and presentation were insane. It was well worth the 15 minute wait. I’ll definitely be back the next time I visit!!

During my time as a UC San Diego student I have regularly visited Blue Bowl for their açaí bowls. I approached my first experience at Juice Wave with optimistic expectations. The experience failed to match the expectations I had for this establishment. The 40-minute wait was pretty wild. The long wait time for my order was unacceptable since the final product failed to meet my expectations. The ingredients were fresh, sure—but the flavor was pretty average, maybe even a bit underwhelming compared to other spots around San Diego.

The portion size was acceptable but the prices were reasonable yet the extended wait time and average taste made the experience less satisfying. The establishment provides an average experience that fails to impress customers, especially with the lack of seating area for customers.

Try it for yourself and make your own opinion, but for me it was a one and done experience.

We were told that the wait for our açaí bowls would be 40 minutes. We ended up waiting over an hour and people that arrived after us received their food before us. Very disappointed and will only be coming back if I make an online order. Also the woman at the front was kinda rude when we said we wanted lids for our bowls.

Walked up and there was literally no one in line or in the shop but was told if I wanted a bowl it would be a 1 hour and 40 minute wait. Like what?? They don’t even take mobile orders..

We were really excited to try Juice Wave’s açaí bowls and planned our day around it. Online it says they close at 3:00 PM. My family and I (a group of 8) started driving around 2:10 PM and after 40 minutes on the road, we arrived at 2:54 PM before the posted closing time of 3PM.

To our surprise, we were told they were already closed and not taking any more orders. The employee rudely said they stop taking orders at 2:30 PM. If that’s the case, why isn’t that clearly listed online? Most people rely on posted hours when deciding to support small businesses.

We even tried calling at 2:13 PM to place a pickup order, knowing we were cutting it close. But the calls went straight to voicemail—they had already turned off their phones as well.

Overall, it was a frustrating experience. If you stop taking orders at 2:30, then you should update your hours to reflect that. We went out of our way to support this place, but the poor customer service and lack of transparency left a really bad impression.

WILL TAKE AN HOUR TO MAKE WARNING!!!!! Was an hour wait and several employees were sitting inside moving slowly. A “regular” walked in and the woman at the front asked the workers to speed up his order while we had been waiting for over 50 minutes. Not sure why it takes an hour to make an açaí bowl. As we were waiting about 20 people that had made the journey decided to not place an order. Paid extra for peanut butter and got a peanut sized portion. Ridiculous! Never going again. Tik tok is making the wrong people famous. Support the Mexican restaurant next door instead

The workers were super welcoming and quick! I highly recommend stopping by and trying these delicious acai bowls! These bowls were worth the hype and were the best bowls I have ever tried!
