I started going here when they first opened. My then husband & I had date night every friday night & we lived 2 blocks away. There are lots of great places to go in that area but soon Jyoti-Bihanga became our every friday night. We weren't vegetarians but we loved the food and neither one of us was big meat eaters. The food was SO GOOD and we loved that we could walk there & enjoyed the whole vibe,The people and the atmosphere was so nice also. We moved out far out to the back country in east county & still would go on date nights. Sadly we aren't together anymore but I still grab people now & then and say, HEY, you wanna go get some awesome food?? And so we go!! THE best vegetarian food in town!

Used to be one of my favorites. For a while now the service hasn't been great and the quality of the food is hit or miss. Today I made an online order(we usually eat indoors), got the message to pick it up and was told that their servers were down when I arrived. No problem for me honestly, what got to me is they were behaving like I was bothering them. Very standoffish the whole time. I hate to police people but the tone was as if I had messed up, no sorry for the wait or anything either. Just a bunch of dudes acting like I was bothering them. I was thinking maybe they're busy but the servers were all hanging around and chatting. What made this experience worse is that the quality of the food wasn't great. We ordered avocado wraps and one part of our wrap was missing avocado and tomatoes and barely had any lettuce. It sucks that their prices have gone up and yet the quality of the food has gotten worse. In all honesty, this all wouldn't have been such a big deal if what little interaction I had with the servers wasn't so negative. I don't need to be babied just treated with the same respect I treat you. Hope this place improves.

I have visited a few times now and have had great meals every time. The menu is varied and service is friendly. Portions are ample, and I've found variety in each visit. The soups are really fun with cornbread for sure. The quaint diner feel is relaxing and the pace is perfect for lunch with friends.

My friend and I decided to come here as neither us had been here for quite a few years as we don't generally go to this area. Besides, it's a very healthy alternative and jf you are looking for a vegetarian or vegan eatery this is a good place. It was inspired by the creative and spiritual leader Sri Chimoy. His purpose was for world peace including a lot of beautiful paintings thar are well known all over the world, given to charities and for sale. If you're not familiar with him check him out. We arrived around 12:30 and it was virtually empty which was nice and quiet. This is a very small restaurant and always clean. We decided to have real cheese and not vegan with our meal and sat a nice table by the window where it was warm. My friend ordered the chips, salsa, chili and corn bread. She enjoyed it and ordered the Nirvana tea and I had a delicious pineapple, banana, mango smoothie. I enjoyed my portobello quesadilla and a mild flavorful salsa. ($18.00 for mine) We were waited by a very nice woman who gave us very good service. This restaurant opened in 1986 and at that time good luck finding anything healthy to eat. The food is simple but, I guarantee you won't get any indigestion. ; )) It's really wonderful to see a restaurant that has survived over the years and is still here. Being staffed by disciples.

Love this place ! The vegan NEATloaf is amazing . We go to the Sunday buffet when it’s on and they have great vegan options . Totally recommend. Parking can be tight so just be aware. Very casual space with good food.

First time here. I’m not vegan or vegetarian and I thought it was great. Got the Reuben and the Yoga Bowl. Service was friendly and fast. There is a private parking lot one door down.
