We drove quite a long way to find out the restaurant was closed. The restaurant hours posted on the website are not reliable, so don't count on them to be 100% accurate, you might want to call in advance. Luckily, the restaurant is located in a food court, so there were other options. The pictures on website looks appealing and the family was excited to eat here. Overall, three stars due to unreliable times on website, but we look forward to hopefully getting the chance to eat here some time.

The seafood fried noodle is sooo good! I always crave for this noodle. A lil pricey, but definitely worth it!

Was very delicious! I definitely come back here again to eat Jjam-bbong:) Thanks for good taste and service.

Get the black bean noodle and sweet and sour pork. The noodles are flavorful, thick and chewy. The pork is super crispy and the sauce is just right. Food comes out really quick. Located inside h mart supermarket.

I had the white jjam-ppong. I enjoyed the broth the most which was not too salty or fishy. The noodles were more al dente than I preferred and could have cooked longer. The use of frozen seafood was a turn-off. It was an expensive and an underwhelming dish overall

Love getting their jjajangmyeon (black bean noodle) and tang su yuk (deep fried pork with sweet & sour sauce)! It's a classic duo to get. If you happen to get it as a take-out and you have the fire noodle hot sauce on hand, add some to your noodles and it will take it to a whole other level!

My favorite place to get black bean noodles (aka Jaja mein). It's hard to find a good place for this. But this place in the HMart food court (Balboa location) is pretty dang close. Their noodles are perfectly cooked and the black bean sauce is delicious...with just the right amount of meat & veggies. It hits the spot when craving this dish. Good service too!

I always get Jja Jang Myun (black bean noodles) every time I come here! FOOD Jja Jang Myun - This comes in a big bowl and with a side of yellow pickled daikon radish. The noodles are perfect texture - so chewy and good vehicles for the black bean sauce! The sauce has diced meat (pork) and veggies like peas and onions. It's seasoned good although a bit salty at times! One downside from my experience having eaten here a few times before is that the sauce starts off very thick but then becomes watery the longer/more you eat it. PARKING This place is located inside HMART so there's a big parking lot with plenty of spaces! GOOD TO KNOW This applies to if you're planning to eat at the place! To order, you go up to the cashier and placed your order. Then, they'll give you a number and you can seat yourself anywhere in the food court and wait until they call out your number on the speaker. There are multiple food places here so the speaker will list the name of the restaurant as well as the order number. You'd pick up the food at the counter, and once done with the food, you bring the bowls and plate back at the counter. Hope that's helpful!! Total: $~22 + tip

Kangnam Chef is located within H-Mart on Balboa. It's a Korean and Chinese fusion. We ordered the Jja Jang Myeon noodles. The noodles were thick and chewy. The sauce is comprised of "chunjang," which is made out of black bean paste. It came with chopped onions, diced pork and other veggie toppings. The noodles were overall very good. Be aware, for those who are health conscious, this meal was slightly oily but delicious.

Looked through all the H-Mart food court places for lunch, and this one caught my eye for the jjamppong, which is a korean-chinese spicy seafood soup (one of my fave dishes!). Don't forget to grab a little cup of pickled daikon with your meal! The jjamppong is a big portion! It was very tasty and I love the thick noodles. They gave a HUGE portion of the noodles. They were also pretty generous with squid, octopus, and mushroom but less so with shrimp (I only got 1 shrimp) and pork (they were super tiny pieces). I also wish the carrot and zucchini were bigger as well. Nevertheless, it was a super tasty meal.
