The wagyu hot pot is delicious and all the ingredients are fresh. 40$ per person includes a variety of ingredients, condiments, side dishes, fruits, drinks, and ice cream. The lamb is also good. Each person can choose two kinds of pot bases for a small hot pot. Drinks are available for an additional fee. There are two types of beef that are limited, and each person can only order one of each type. The environment is good, very clean, and the service is very good.

This place is one of my favorites in the list of hotpots. I have never tried their bbq because I have a favorite place for that but the hotpot is great and the options are as well. Totally recommended. It is a ayce. What else can you ask for?! You won't regret this place, and you'll totally come back.

***This review is for the bbq portion of the restaurant*** The style of bbq is Japanese style, not Korean bbq. One of the major differences I noticed was that there were almost no sides available here. They have curry & teeny tiny portions of cheese corn. It's still AYCE. On the plus side, they have a few self-serve items many kbbqs don't have- 4 different flavors of ice cream (not soft serve), individual canned soft drinks, and fruit tea/milk tea/yogurt drink options. Quality of meat is good. Awesome that they serve chicken cartilage & gizzard. Beef tongue was really good too. Service was attentive bc of the small room. We came on a Friday night & they ran out of regular grills & had to give us a different style (i can't think of the name but it looks like a silver net) which made the meat stick to the grill which was disappointing. Overall I'd come back for gizzard & beef tongue & the other beef options if I'm craving it! But I definitely missed having the variety of sides at kbbq places.

If I had to pick anywhere for Korean or Japanese bbq.. it would be Kanpai. It's a little on the pricier side compared to other bbq places I've been. But OH MY GOD. So good. Service was great. We got seated fast. It wasn't too busy when we went. But the thing I think I liked the most aside from the unlimited about of wagyu ribeye strips was the fact that it was unlimited drinks aside from alcohol. Usually at bbq you get one can of soda which in my option is such a scam. They also have milk tea in a dispenser! Rice cooker to serve yourself. And ice cream is included. LOVE. Can't wait to go back!

We went here for the shabu-shabu, the meat is great quality, all the sides are great, self-serve drinks are included and the service is on point. Definitely recommend this place. I still have to try their Korean bbq side of the house.

Food 4.5 / 5 very very delicious meats and variety of sauces (ponzu, peanut, satay, and sesame oil). Thrifty chocolate desert was great. As they grow successfully, I'm sure they'll all more sides to choose from similar to Shabu Work's progression. Service 5/5 very attentive waitress and always checking in. Ambiance 2.5/5 layout needs work, bathroom especially needs maintenance; suggest holding your breath before going in so you don't loose your appetite

This location is fairly small so very limited space so expect a wait if you go at a certain time. When you put your name down for the waitlist it will ask if you here for the hot pot part of the restaurant or the bbq, you can't do both because they are two different rooms. I did the ayce bbq and it was a really good experience. The menu is fairly small compare to other places but the quality of the meat was really good especially the wagu steak. The service were really friendly and helpful, they catered to every need. The speed from when you order the meat and the time it comes out was pretty much instant, that was good selling point for me. I would surely go back and hopefully the it will be the same experience.

The quality of food and service here is amazing. Very attentive staff and high-quality meats. The majority of the items are self-serve including the drinks. The Meats are brought to you when you order. Kanpai is good for large groups and families. I love the spacing between tables because you don't feel like your packed in with your fellow patrons.

AYCE hotpot and Korean BBQ. They do both but the downside is everyone with you has to do the same thing since they split up the option by room. We did hotpot which didn’t come with as many options as you would see in other places but the meat options were fresh. I’ve gone to places where the meats come out frozen and have a bit of an off taste; but not here, everything came out fresh and tasted great. They give a pot split in 2 so that you can have 2 different broths, which I thought was cool. They also have free soft drinks and dessert (ice cream) options. Other than having to stick to one option when dining I thought the tables were pretty small which didn’t allow much elbow room once everything’s on the table. I’ll for sure be back to try the BBQ option.

Finally got a chance to visit Kanpai last night! Overall experience we had a good time here. Restaurant is split into two rooms, a bbq room or hotpot room. Everyone at the table must choose the same dining option. We chose hotpot and was seated by our server who told us sauces, seafood, rice curry, and drinks are self serve. We just order the broths, alcohol, meats, and the fish through her. Everything came out quickly! Service was attentive and friendly. Each person gets their own personalized pot with up to 2 broth selections. I got tomato and the mala (spicy tonkotsu). Broths were good but I felt the tomato was a bit sweet. Meat was delicious and fresh. Smaller menu options here compared to other shabu spots but good value for the price! I would definitely come back here for hotpot again to try the other broths or to checkout bbq next time!

Used to be my fav spot Boiling Passion, love the individual hot pots. Awesome selection of veggies, seafood, and sauces. Self scoop icecream station for dessert! Attentive workers, helped us make sure the pots weren't boiling over haha. You can ask for more broth if needed as well.
