The host situation is a problem- waited 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and another 5 minutes to be seated. Wait staff was attentive. Food was solid. They need to serve coffee!

Food was good, mac n cheese was more salty then flavourful. The pastrami sandwhich was excellent! And the rest was pretty good. Atmosphere is amazing at this place because of the beautiful koi pond. Just need the servers to step up their game and would be one of the best brew pubs in San diego!

The food was satisfactory. Service was excellent. Our server was a delight. There were very few diners, so there wasn't much atmosphere to speak of. The staff are always pleasant. Acceptable restaurant for lunch.

We waited 5 mins in the entrance, finally someone come by told us he is going to find the host. At the end he came back and got us the table , after seated we waited 15 mins, nobody come to greet and take order. ( Monday lunch)
Our 1st visit was great, good food, good service. But this return visit was awful.

Karl Strauss is a happening place for San Diego businesspeople and biotech nerds to talk business or just hang out. They have a more extensive food menu than most breweries, with as of today two vegan mains: Their vegan burger is perfectly fine (especially with sweet potato fries), the Korean BBQ bowl is surprisingly good. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, including heat lamps outside for when it gets chilly (by San Diego standards).
A restaurant with a very comfortable environment. The food is great, but there are some omissions when ordering and you need to wait longer.

Got the beer brined pork chop plate. It was very tasty. The prices are high for the amount of food you get.
Parking: Plenty of parking in the parking lot.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible parking, entrance, and seating.

It saddens me to post this review, since I love K.S. beer (especially the Red Trolley) but unfortunately the server we had was disgustingly rude.
Food was great, but service was very lacking-- it seems she was neglecting every table. (Dark hair, light skin, seemed constantly flustered)
My husband and I won't be back, but we will visit the other K.S. in downtown ππππΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈ

Great atmosphere! Love the koi fish pond and overall decor vibes of the place.
Service sucked based on my personal experience. I was there 10/29 at 6pm for a group event, but it was during the World Series.
I asked one of the service people nearby if I could place an order and she looked at me, seemingly a bit annoyed, and replied she didn't have her order pad and would be back. She didn't come back.
I saw here again and asked if they were going to put on the World Series game. Again, she seemed annoyed and said they were going to and walked away.
It was the look and tone of this girl that has stayed with me an entire day, that I'm here writing a review.
In the service industry, do better or customers like me will take our business to the countless other places that treat us better.

Second time here. The Staff is knowledgeable, they help each other serve you. (No Cold Food Here). Room for parties on the 3 patios, running brook, with Giant goldfish in the pond that weaves under one of the patios. Huge selection of drinks, acholic and non. It's a little picturesque, where it is located, that, is the restaurant. Lunch and dinner suburb. Steaks, fish, pasta, huge salads. And, not expensive.

I got there just as a massive group from a nearby Tech company came in. I sat at the bar for close to 10 minutes & no one saw me. Then I moved a little bit to my left & Riley (I might be wrong on the name) saw me & was very apologetic & led me through the menu. After that she was very attentive & nice.
This is a lovely venue & the staff were great. I'm not a massive Karl Strauss beer fan but I'll come back here because of the great staff & good Happy Hour deals

The menu has clearly marked vegan items. There is not a lot but you can make a good meal here with good beer on a beautiful koi pond.
We went there on Sunday not realizing that the brunch was no longer offered, which was a HUGE disappointment and I just don't understand why they didn't bring it back post COVID as it was extremely popular as witnessed by the crowd which was about half as much as when the brunch was active.
However, still a wonderful, peaceful place to dine and enjoy conversation.
