Tired of doing bumps and getting drunk on the dance floor? Then this is the place for you. A beautiful, amazing queer friendly sober atmosphere with great traditional and flavored kava. I’ve been calling this place my second home for years and it has literally saved my life and given me a true sense of community. Thanks Kava Collective. ❤️
Good drinks, good vibes. Friendly hangout spot.
I didn't even know that Kava can actually taste good, but these guys proved it can! Ube flavor for the win. Small space, but feels cozy.
Amazing place. A unique twist to original fijian drink.
You guys suck!! You disrespect the community! Close your damn patio at a decent hour instead of letting people yell and scream! This is A NEIGHBORHOOD! Freaking respect it! Some of us have JOBS and are RESPONSIBILITIES! So close the damn patio!
Absolutely love the vibes at Kava Collective! Such a warm, welcoming space with chill energy. If you’re looking for an alcohol-free hangout that still delivers the good vibes, this is it.
Perfect vibe, perfect comoany, in the best district of San Diego. Good for working amd chating in am alcohol free place.
This was my first time trying kava!
A friend of mine suggested this place when I told him that I wasn't drinking. I've seen this place a thousand times, but never really checked it out. We went in and the bartender (what do you call them??) gave me a sample of their OG kava since I've never had one before. I did not like it, but perhaps that's what it's supposed to taste like? The customer next to me said that the OG is usually too strong for a first-timer.
My friend suggested trying the "cocktail" version and yes this turned out good! It was a little sweet and served on ice, it was a great, relaxing, refreshing drink.
We managed to find a couple of seats by the bar. The place is always packed, but everyone here was very friendly; they would make space for you to squeeze in, chatted with you etc. Seemed like a good place to meet new people.
They also have a cabinet full of board games!
Great experience at Kava Collective. My girlfriend and I are new to Kava and the Kavatender(?) was great. He let us know what to expect and we had a fantastic time! Will definitely be back
Kava Collective is hands down the best kava bar in San Diego! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The vibe here is chill and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind, relax, and connect with great people.
Their kava and kratom drinks are top-notch, expertly prepared, and always fresh. Whether you’re a kava connoisseur or trying it for the first time, the knowledgeable staff is always happy to guide you through the menu and find the perfect drink to suit your vibe. The bartenders are friendly, helpful, and truly passionate about what they do.
The seating is cozy, with plenty of space to hang out solo or with friends. Whether you’re looking for a calm place to work, a laid-back social atmosphere, or just a place to escape the hustle of the city, Kava Collective has it all.
Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a relaxing, community-driven space with amazing drinks and even better energy. This place is a hidden gem—I’ll definitely be back! 💙🍵

Really cool vibes. Awesome lounge with paintings!
Great drinks and great atmosphere. The server was very kind and helpful. The apple ginger was amazing!
Can you believe that today is my first time as a Polynesian drinking kava? Yup, at nearly 64 years old, I am finally trying this traditional drink. It’s just like my uncles described, rooty with a numbing effect in my mouth. Relaxing. Thank you to Jacob for serving me my first kava!
They treated me very well and let me try it for the first time!
Great spot. My first time having Kava. Everyone there was very nice and friendly. I would be back. There. Have many rooms and also host NA and codependency meetings. They also have a tree inside and a patio to smoke that is decorated and cute.
